‘Black Mirror’ Actress In Talks To Star In ‘The Grudge’ Reboot

The 2004 U.S. version of The Grudge was a hit with genre fans and went on to spawn two sequels, but Hollywood isn’t finished with the franchise yet. We’re getting a reboot. Last summer we reported that Ghost House Pictures had snagged The Eyes of My Mother‘s Nicolas Pesce to rewrite and direct the reboot. Deadline is now reporting that casting is officially underway. Word is, “Black Mirror” actress Andrea Riseborough is circling the role of a detective and single mother. The new version of the 20o4 film, inspired by the 2002 Japan’s Ju-on, is the twelfth addition to the franchise which also includes two short films, a video game, and a graphic novel series.

This April, Jamie Bernadette (American Satan (review), I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu) is on a mission as a vengeful spirit in writer-director Todd Bartoo’s highly-anticipated film Killing Joan. Joan, an enforcer known for her ruthless tactics and wild abandon. After she is double-crossed by her boss and left for dead, she becomes a vengeful spirit and is doomed to wander the Earth until she is able to take down the men that attacked her. ‘World War Z 2’ Delayed In Favor Of Tarantino’s New Film

While we are excited about Brad Pitt signing on to co-star in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, we are sad to report Paramount will be delaying World War Z 2 (again). Due to the fact that Tarantino’s film is set to begin production soon, the studio has no choice to postpone production of the zombie sequel until this fall. Not only to Pitt star in David Fincher’s WWZ 2, he is also serving as executive producer. Eventually, the film will get made, it’s just a matter of when. Pitt will co-star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio who has been cast as Rick Dalton, a former star of a western series. Pitt will play the role of Dalton’s longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth. It’s been said that Margot Robbie has been cast to play Sharon Tate, the actress who was murdered along with several friends by members of the Manson family.

‘The Crow’ Starring Jason Momoa Now Has A Release Date!

After years of false starts and cancelations, love it or hate it, The Crow reboot is coming. In fact, it has just received a theatrical release date was revealed by Sony yesterday during a briefing. Starring Aquaman Jason Momoa, who has been teasing his involvement for months, the film titled The Crow: Reborn is set to open in theaters in next year. Corin Hardy will be in the director’s chair for the movie written by Nick Cave, which is based on the 1989 comic book series by James O’Barr. Momoa will star as Eric Draven, the role originally played by Brandon Lee, a musician who returns from the dead to seek revenge on the gang who murdered him and his finacé. The Crow: Reborn will open in theaters nationwide on October 11, 2019, just in time for Halloween.

‘It’ Star Joins Supernatural Thriller ‘Descendant’

Jackson Robert Scott, the kid who played Georgia in Stephen King’s It, has joined the cast of Orion Picture’s Descendant. Inspired by films like The Omen, the Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, At the Devil’s Dorr) is directing movie written by Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train), THR reports. The film centers on a young mother who, concerned about her 8-year-old son’s disturbing behavior, thinks something supernatural may be affecting him. Production is set to kick off this month in Toronto. Daniel Bekerman, Lisa Zambri, Nick Spicer, and Buhler are executive producing the film.

‘The Russian Bride’ Looks Terrified In New Poster

VMI Worldwide has just announced that it has acquired the new mother-daughter survival thriller The Russian Bride, directed by Michael S. Ojeda (Avenged). The film has just been screened at the European Film Market (EFM) and has brand new artwork. Movie Review: Monkey Farm is a Found Footage Creature Feature With Something New to Offer!

A group of intrepid documentary film makers toil away making a film about the ethics of animal testing…a journey which leads them to a former testing site now supposedly utilized as a primate sanctuary. Upon arriving, they find the facility long abandoned, in complete disrepair, and full of an ungodly stench. As their investigation continues they cross paths with scientists, crazed Skunk Ape hunters, and a mutant monster they are ill-equipped to handle! For being an entry in a genre that has definitely had it’s highs and lows (many, many lows) Monkey Farm does quite a few things right. First of all, the animal testing angle is a nice (and welcome) change from the normal paranormal/ghost subject matter usually found in pictures such as these.
