Evil Goes Viral In ‘The e-Demon’ Trailer

Dark Cuts Pictures has acquired North American rights to Jeremy Wechter’s e-Demon, which won writer-director Wechter the Best Director Award at the New York Horror Film Festival. The film, produced by Wechter, Michael Gonzalez, PJ Starks, and Emily Pojman, tells of an escaped demon on a dark and twisted mission that manipulates a group of friends hanging out on a video-chat. The film is craftily structured – it takes place completely on a computer screen via the webcams being shown. “Kendra, AJ, Mar, and Dwayne are old college friends who find themselves growing apart. Attempting to hang on to their good old Ohio State days, the gang gets together online for a night of stories, pranks and drinking via webcam. As the evening progresses, they unknowingly release a deviously clever demon that had been trapped for centuries in Salem, Massachusetts. A Serial Killer Stalks ‘The Basement’ This September

Mischa Barton (“The OC”, The Sixth Sense) stars in The Basement, a unique new horror film from Brian M.Conley and Nathan Ives, premiering on digital this September from Uncork’d Entertainment. In the film, “Craig is abducted and wakes up in a basement. His captor, Bill, is a twisted serial killer who wishes to reenact his own capture, with Craig playing the part of Bill and Bill playing everyone else. As Bill tortures Craig, he cycles through a number of personas, all while Craig tries desperately to find a way into Bill’s pathology in order to save himself.” Featuring “stellar lead performances” (Dread Central) from the cast – which also includes Jackson Davis, Cayleb Long, Tracie Thoms, Bailey Anne Borders, and Sarah Nicklin – The Basement is ripe for exploring this fall. After a seemingly tacked on host segment meant to simulate a USA Up All Night Style program (perhaps added to extend the film’s run time and make it seem like any flaws in the finished product are intentional…something your’s cruelly would know nothing about), Streets of Vengeance begins in earnest, letting us know right off the bat that a psycho (who seems to be part of some anti-sex cult called The Sword) stalks the mean streets slicing and dicing sex workers with wild abandon. ‘The Sleeper’ Is Awake And Getting A Re-Release

Movie Review: Show Yourself (2016)

Ol’ Travis (Ben Hethcoat), one of your floppy haired actor types, heads out to the middle of East Asshair Nowhere to lay to rest the ashes of his deceased chum Paul (I would have just flushed that bitch and went for a pizza, but hey, to each their own). Once at a cabin at said location, Travis dicks around on his phone, dreams about Paul (as do we all…as do we all) and downs some drinks…be still my heart…Anyway, Travis scatters half the ashes into a stagnant pond (where soggy, silent Paul suddenly appears for a tick), and gets on with his whirlwind of boozin’ and Skypin’. Occasionally something makes it’s presence subtly known…when it wants to…which isn’t often…but is it Paul? Let’s start with what I liked about Show Yourself. Actor Hethcoat makes for an engaging lead; he has a nice range, and he definitely carried the story (more on that below) admirably. Moving on… Holy hell this movie

‘The SNES Omnibus: The Super Nintendo and Its Games’ Is A Nostalgic Treasure Map

I sat down with a hefty book for a nice afternoon of reading (Yes I DO read, I don’t play video games all the time!). I read through Brett Weiss’s “The SNES Omnibus: The Super Nintendo and Its Games, Vol. 1 (A–M)” from Schiffer Publishing. This coffee table book is amazing! The book has more than 2,000 colored images showing off the majesty of over 350 SNES titles! What is amazing about this book is how much it’s a trip down memory lane for me. I did not play SNES growing up so I missed out on a lot of these games but I remember the box art and advertising posters when I would go rent movies! A lot of the games in this book were based on TV shows I watched when I was younger and forgot about! Senua Is Back, This Time In VR!

Ninja Theory is again taking the gaming experience to a whole other level in “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR Edition”. The BAFTA award-winning game will now have a VR feature that will launch on Steam on July 31, 2018, for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The VR feature will be free to those who already purchased the game on Steam. The story will still be in third-person but the headset will now act as the camera as well as an aid in controlling Senua’s movements. “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” is a dark fantasy game about a young Pict woman named Senua who has come to the land of the “Northmen” to travel to their underworld to rescue the soul of her lover who was sacrificed to Hel, the Northmen’s goddess of the underworld.
