It feels like there’s not a day goes by that we don’t report on something involving Stephen King (not that we are complaining). Today is no different. This time we are here to tell you that the MGM premium cable network Epix has ordered 10-episodes of “Jerusalem’s Lot” based on King’s Night Shift short story of the same name.

The story, with connections to Salem’s Lot, takes place in the 1850s, in the fictional town of Preacher’s Corners in Cumberland County, Maine and is told through a series of letters and diary entries.

Adrian Brody will star as Captain Charles Boone, who faces a series of troubles related to his family’s roots after moving to the town following the death of his wife.

The series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimaginig of classic gothic horror,” THR quoted Michael Wright, president of Epix, as saying. “We can’t wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody…and of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn’t get any better or more masterful than Stephen King. We’re thrilled to be the home of this incredible show.”

Brody, who is known for his roles in films such as Summer of Sam, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Splice, and American Heist, as well as series like “Houdini” and “Peaky Blinders,” played his most brilliant role in 2002’s The Pianist which won him an Oscar and a Golden Globe. The incredible actor also has 11 other awards including a Primetime Emmy for “Houdini.”

Production is set to begin in May 2020 in Halifax, Nova Scotia with plans to launch on Epix in late 2020.
