It’s no secret that Rob Zombie is a massive fan of “The Munsters.” When we first reported in March that he was bringing The Munsters back for a film we were excited. Well, today he officially announced it via Instagram with a new, bright title resembling that of the original series’.
“Attention Boils and Ghouls! The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS!”
Sheri Moon Zombie will star as Lily Munster with Jeff Daniel Philips playing the role of Herman Munster. Zombie film regular Richard Brake will also star along with Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, and Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson.
Filming will begin in Budapest this year. Rumor has it the movie will be heading to Peacock, which currently is streaming the original series that premiered back in 1964.
The original series, a comedy, followed a family of monsters as they live their lives and interact with other people that often are scared by the family’s peculiar behavior and beliefs.
