The action-packed South Korean zombie movie Train To Busan impressed a hell of a lot of people, us included. We reported a while back that the film is getting an English reboot from director Timo Tjahanto (May the Devil Take You).

Today, we’ve got a major update, the reboot is titled The Last Train to New York, but that’s not the only news that has surfaced about the remake, the release date has been announced as well.  The Last Train to New York will hit theaters on April 21, 2023, from New Line Cinema.

In the 2016 original directed by Yeon Sang-Ho, a virus breaks out in South Korea. Survivors aboard a train from Seoul to Busan fight to survive the hungry undead. Directed by Sang-HO Yeon, the movie spawned both a sequel, titled Peninsula, and an animated prequel.

Horror-heavy hitter Gary Dauberman (IT) is adapting The Last Train to New York screenplay as well as producing along with Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear and Nicola Atlan and Terry Kalagian of Gaumont. Horror master James Wan (The Conjuring, Saw) is also on board to produce the film under his Atomic Monster banner. Christophe Riandee, Judson Scott, Johanna Byer, and Sidone Dumas are serving as executive producers.

We’ll update you as we learn more. Are you excited for The Last Train to New York?
