Third Film Of ‘X’ Franchise Announced Ahead Of ‘Pearl’s’ Premiere This Week

Ti West has been a busy man. Not only did his horror film X premiere earlier this year and its prequel Pearl is set to premiere this week, but It has also just been announced that the third film of the  franchise, MaXXXine is already on its way and its first teaser has already been released!

 

Set in 1985, “Mia Goth will be back and reprising one of the two roles she played in X. It follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.” Deadline reports.

MaXXXine has yet to begin filming, but it is being fast-tracked by A24 and is written by and directed by Ti West. Check out the announcement teaser trailer below.

 

 

Pearl, releasing this week, is set in 1918, decades before the events of X, with Mia Goth reprising the role of of the younger version of the old woman from X. Goth played the dual role of Pearl, a senior citizen, and Maxine, the film’s final girl in X.

 

In Pearl, “Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. Lusting for a glamorous life like she’s seen in the movies, Pearl’s ambitions, temptations, and repressions all collide, in the stunning, technicolor-inspired origin story of X’s iconic villain.”

 

Pearl opens in theaters on September 16, 2022.
