The stylized horror feature Love Kills is heading home this October. Director Luiza Shelling Tubaldini converts downtown São Paulo into a vibrant, neon-lit gothic fable for her feature debut. Adapted from Danilo Beyruth’s celebrated graphic novel, the story explores modern vampirism and themes of survival, trauma, and outcast women. The film aims to serve up a thrilling mix of desire, redemption, and bloody action.

Ahead of the release, we have an exclusive clip that shows vampies issuing an ultimatum before a brutal fight breaks out. Watch it and the trailer below.

Dangerous Romance and Clan Conflict

The narrative follows Marcos, a downtrodden café waiter working in a rough neighborhood of São Paulo. Every night, he watches a mysterious, immaculately dressed woman named Helena sitting in the corner. She repeatedly orders coffee she never drinks, silently observing her surroundings.

Driven by fascination, Marcos attempts to rescue her when she appears to face immediate danger one evening. However, he quickly discovers that the captivating stranger never required his help. Helena is actually an ancient vampire fleeing from a ruthless rival clan of immortals. As a result, Marcos gets drawn into a glamorous, blood-soaked underworld operating in plain sight. He soon finds himself caught between warring vampire factions and a lethal supernatural romance.

Film Honors and Core Creative Team

The acclaimed project won Best Sound honors at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, where it also competed for Best Film. The horror feature also earned official selection spots at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.

Lead actress Thais Lago stars as the centuries-old vampire Helena alongside Gabriel Stauffer as the naive waiter Marcos. Supporting actors Iuri Saraiva and Erom Cordeiro round out the main ensemble. Producers André Skaf and Luiza Shelling Tubaldini successfully bring this dark graphic novel adaptation to global streaming audiences.

Watch Love Kills when it bares its fangs on October 30, 2026, across digital platforms, video-on-demand services, and Film Movement Plus.
