Acclaimed filmmaker Adam Rehmeier is preparing to direct his next feature film, an upcoming mystery-horror project titled Seeker. Rehmeier previously earned widespread critical praise for directing hit indie projects like Dinner in America, Snack Shack, and Carolina Caroline. Now, the talented director tackles a dark, twisted story that blends multiple cinematic genres. Horror fans can look forward to an unhinged game of psychological suspense from a stellar creative team.
A Stellar Ensemble Cast Assembled
An impressive trio of talented actors has signed on to lead the upcoming feature. Rising star and Obsession actor Cooper Tomlinson (interview) headlines the cast alongside genre favorite Jessica Rothe (pictured), known for starring in Happy Death Day and the new survival horror River. Mika Abdalla also joins the project, reuniting with director Rehmeier after their successful collaboration on Snack Shack. Together, the talented cast promises deep emotional complexity and intense dramatic energy to the gripping narrative.
A Cat and Mouse Game Spirals Out of Control
Writer Michael Learner penned the original screenplay, crafting a terrifying narrative centered around grief and obsession. The plot follows a tormented man named Grant, portrayed by Tomlinson, five years after his fiancée Caroline mysteriously vanishes without a trace. Working as a rideshare driver, Grant’s daily life is completely upended when he picks up an unsuspecting passenger. Convinced this mysterious customer is responsible for his fiancée’s disappearance, Grant confronts him. However, the initial cat-and-mouse game quickly spirals into a far stranger, more disturbing nightmare.
Heavyweight Production Partners Behind the Project
Producers Alex Lebovici and Michael Learner will mount the production under their acclaimed Hammerstone Studios banner. Notably, Hammerstone previously produced major genre hits like Barbarian, Don’t Move, and Flight Risk. Furthermore, Academy Award winner Adam McKay and Todd Schulman are producing through HyperObject Industries, known for backing The Menu and Fresh. Actor Noah Centineo and Enzo Marc also join the production team through Arkhum Productions, alongside executive producers from north.five.six.
Filming Set to Begin Next Year
Director Adam Rehmeier expressed immense enthusiasm for the script, praising its unique blend of dark comedy, terror, and twisted mystery. Production crews are officially scheduled to begin principal photography in January 2027 across locations in Washington State. Industry insiders expect high international market interest as pre-production concludes. Horror fans can look forward to further casting announcements and official first-look images as filming commences next year on Seeker.
Adam Rehmeier said: “I was all-in the moment I finished reading Michael’s script – it’s dark, twisted, funny, terrifying; a perfect mash-up of genres I haven’t tackled yet. I couldn’t be more excited to get to work with my regular team of collaborators and this amazing group of producers at Hammerstone Studios, HyperObject Industries and Arkhum Productions.”
