Godzilla is proving once again that he is the king of monsters with Toho’s Godzilla Minus One now in theaters, the series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” now streaming on Apple TV+, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire heading to theaters. The trailer and premiere date have just been revealed for the latter.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire marks the fifth film in the Monsterverse franchise and sees the legendary titans Godzilla and Kong team up to prevent a world-ending threat.
Following the success of his Godzilla Vs. Kong director Adam Wingard is back and reunites with returning cast members Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as fan-favorite Bernie Hayes, and Kaylee Hottle as Jia. Dan Stevens and Fala Chen. Rachel House has joined the cast of Wingard’s film, written by Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest).

Legendary’s Monsterverse began in 2014 with Godzilla, followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of Monsters in 2019, followed by 2021’s Godzilla VS. Kong. It continues with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which will open in theaters on April 12, 2024.
