Get ready for another captivating series from the brilliant and twisted mind of Ryan Murphy. FX has officially ordered “The Beauty,” an adaptation of the acclaimed 2016 horror comic from Image Comics.
This new series is part of Murphy’s overall deal with Disney. It will feature a star-studded cast, including frequent collaborators Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, and Ashton Kutcher. Peters, Ramos, and Pope will also serve as executive producers alongside Murphy and Matt Hodgson. Production on the 11-episode first season is expected to begin this fall.
The 2016 graphic novel The Beauty, created by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, presents a world where physical perfection is attainable. A sexually transmitted disease offers the promise of becoming more beautiful every day. It leades to a widespread obsession with outward appearance. However, as Detectives Foster and Vaughn discover, this pursuit of beauty comes at a terrible price.
“The Beauty” boasts a talented ensemble cast. Evan Peters, known for his captivating performances in Murphy’s “American Horror Story” and Netflix’s smash hit “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” will take on a leading role.
Anthony Ramos, renowned for his Broadway success in Hamilton and recent film appearances like Twisters, will have a vital role. Jeremy Pope, previously seen in Murphy’s “Pose” and Hollywood, adds another layer of talent to the ensemble.
Ashton Kutcher, known for his iconic roles in “That 70’s Show” and “Two and a Half Men,” joins the cast, bringing his comedic and dramatic skills to the table.
