Following the global success and award recognition of the 2025 indie slasher feature The R.I.P. Man, the creative team is officially returning for a blood-soaked sequel. Filmmaker Jamie Langlands returns to the director’s chair to helm the upcoming horror installment. Langlands also co-wrote the terrifying new screenplay with returning producer Rhys Thompson. The upcoming production aims to build on the original film’s gruesome legacy by delivering escalated gore and dark suspense.
Returning to a Macabre Legacy
The original indie hit introduced audiences to a grim horror mythos centered around a toothless serial killer. Operating with a terrifying gimmick, the original villain left wind-up chattering teeth as a signature calling card. Furthermore, the killer extracted teeth from victims to insert into his own gums, creating an unsettling visual experience. Following the eventual imprisonment of the original killer, Alden Pick, the peaceful town of Tarker’s Valley seemed safe. However, the new story proves that ancient grudges and lingering trauma do not disappear easily.
A New Villain Threatens Tarker’s Valley
The narrative unfolds in the picturesque seaside town of Tarker’s Valley as survivors try to rebuild. Returning protagonists Donnie, played by Maximus Polling, and Clarissa, played by Jasmine Kheen, plan an exciting future together. Seeking to put their horrific past behind them, the couple attempts to live normally. However, a sinister new threat emerges in the form of a villain named Chaz Porter, portrayed by Craig Standen. The terrifying new antagonist unleashes a wave of dread across the coastal community.
Fresh Allies and Double Trouble
To combat the rising body count, the core group receives aid from a gritty new ally. Actress Georgie Ray joins the cast as Trudy, bringing an edgy, direct approach to helping her fearful friends. Her fearless nature also helps the group confront the escalating threat in their neighborhood. Meanwhile, the mystery remains whether the original killer, Alden Pick, played by Owen Llewelyn, will break free and resurface alongside the new killer. As a result, local law enforcement faces double the trouble as overlapping threats collide.
Crowdfunding Campaign and Production Details
The creative team launched an active Kickstarter campaign to secure the remaining funds to complete production. Indie horror enthusiasts can back the campaign online to earn exclusive production rewards and limited physical media merchandise. Returning cast and key crew members also promise high-quality practical gore effects for the sequel. Horror fans can follow official production updates and campaign milestones as filming continues in Tarker’s Valley.
