The sequel to 2014’s supernatural thriller ‘Ouija’ is now in production. Mike Flanagan is not only directing the sequel, but is also co-writing the movie’s script along with Jeff Howard. Flanagan and Howard have teamed up before, with 2014’s ‘Oculus’.
According to Deadline the movie now has it’s full cast that includes Doug Jones (The Strain), Sam Anderson (Justified), Lulu Wilson (Deliver Us From Evil), Henry Thomas (E,T.), Elizabeth Reaser (True Detectives), Parker Mack (Faking It), and Kate Siegel and Annalise Basso, who both appeared in Flanagan’s ‘Oculus’.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will producing for Blumhouse Productions. Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis will produce under Hasbro and Trevor Macy will produce under the Intrepid Pictures’ banner. Sara Scott will oversee ‘Ouija 2’ for Universal, which will open in theaters on October 21, 2016.
In the first film a group of friends come together to try to communicate with their friend who had recently committed suicide. Soon after using the board the friends begin to experience paranormal activity and several of the friends turn up dead. One girl and her sister must find the answer, and put an end to the spirit haunting them before they die too. ‘Ouija’ starred Olivia Cooke, Ana Coto, Daren Kagasoff, Bianca A. Santos, Douglas Smith, Shelly Hennig, and Lin Shaye.
