March 2026 is a massive month for horror fans, following closely on the heels of the Scream 7 hype now that it’s in theaters. This month features a mix of high-budget gothic reimaginings, long-awaited sequels, and some highly experimental “audio-first” scares.

Here is the breakdown of the most anticipated horror releases for March 2026.

Theatrical Releases

March 6 The Bride! Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. A gothic sci-fi romance starring Christian Bale as “Frank” and Jessie Buckley as the Bride. Set in 1930s Chicago.
March 6 Dolly An indie slasher from Shudder/IFC. Follows a young woman fighting for survival against a “monster-like” figure in the backwoods.
March 13            Undertone An “audio-horror” experiment starring Nina Kiri. It follows a paranormal podcast host and relies heavily on unsettling soundscapes.
March 13 Slanted A psychological thriller/horror about a woman whose perception of reality literally begins to tilt.
March 20 Ready or Not 2: Here I Come Samara Weaving returns as Grace. The sequel ups the stakes with four rival families hunting Grace and her sister (Kathryn Newton).
March 20 Touch Me A psychosexual sci-fi horror involving tentacles and aliens. Limited theatrical release before moving to VOD.
March 27 They Will Kill You Produced by the Muschiettis (IT). Stars Zazie Beetz and Patricia Arquette in a “grindhouse-style” survival horror set in a NYC high-rise.

Quick Guide: Which to Watch?

If you’re looking for “elevated horror,” You’re going to want to watch The Bride! which has an A-list cast (Bale, Gyllenhaal, Cruz) and looks to be a visual masterpiece.

If you’re in the mood for blood violence, Ready or Not 2 and Dolly will satisfy the need for high-tension chases and creative kills. However, if you are looking for something different, something scary, Undertone is being called the scariest film of the year so far due to its innovative use of sound.

Happy watching!
