If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like if Satan sat down for a therapy session? Terror Films Releasing has exactly what you need. They’ve just teamed up with director Aaron Greer to release the independent horror flick The Coming, and it sounds like a wild, meta ride.

A Very Dark “Hero’s Journey”

The story, written by Seth Panitch, centers on Sam Allyn, a high-profile psychiatrist who has hit rock bottom. Desperate for work, he ends up at the decaying Mt. Carmel Psychiatric Hospital. He thinks he’s found his ticket back to the top when he’s assigned to cure the enigmatic Patient X.

But there’s a twist: Patient X isn’t just a tough case. The film serves as a darkly comic origin story for the Devil. Told from Satan’s own perspective, the movie follows his “Hero’s Journey” through denial, self-discovery, and, eventually, the full acceptance of his role as the universe’s ultimate antagonist.

Behind the Scenes

The creative duo of Panitch and Greer wanted to create something that forces the audience to sympathize with the most unlikely “hero” ever. As Panitch puts it:

“It’s the story of a creature discovering, despising, and ultimately falling in love with its true identity—the responsibility of singlehandedly maintaining the universal balance of Light and Dark.”

Seth Panitch, Jyreika Guest, and Baron Kelly lead the cast.

Watch The Coming, out now on Amazon Prime. Or watch it when it hits Chilling, Scare Network TV, Kings of Horror, and Terror Films’ own YouTube channel, Shocks & Docs on April 3, 2026. Between the psychiatric setting and the philosophical deep dive into evil, The Coming looks to be one of the most unique indie releases of the spring.
