Mike Colter, star of Netflix’s hit series Luke Cage, has joined the cast of Ben Young’s alien invasion film Extinction which is currently filming.
Colter will co-star alongside Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield), Michael Pena (The Martian), and Isreal Broussard (Fear the Walking Dead).
Written by Eric Heisserer, Spenser Cohen and Bradley Caleb Kane, Universal and Good Universe’s film follows a father (Pena) whose recurring nightmare of losing family becomes a real threat when aliens invade the planet.
Beauty and the Beast’s Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Mandeville will produce. Mandeville’s Alexander Young will serve as executive producer for the project along with Joe Drake of Good Universe, and Nathan Kahane.
Encounter will land in theaters on January 26, 2018.
