Back in 2016 Grady Hendrix‘s second novel, My Best Friend’s Exorcism hit shelves. Described as “Beaches meets The Exorcist,” the 80’s set tale takes place in the age of “Satanic Panic”. A touching tale of friendship and possession the book is getting an adaptation from Endeavor Content with Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day) and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein producing. Landon will most likely direct as well.
“The story is set in 1988 and follows the relationship of two best friends, Abby and Gretchen. After an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act more and more different, as Abby slowly comes to believe her friend has become demonically possessed. Both girls must soon face a tough question: is their friendship strong enough to beat the Devil?”
Jenna Lamia is now writing the script.
