Sony Pictures is set to release the Sam Raimi-produced horror Umma this March, putting it up against Ti West’s highly anticipated new horror film X.

Umma follows Sandra Oh‘s  Amanda and her daughter (Fivel Stewart) live a quiet life on an American farm, but when the remains of Amanda’s mother arrive from Korea, Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her mother.

Dermot Mulroney, MeeWha Alana Lee, Odeya Rush, and Tom Yi co-star in the film written and directed by Iris K. Shim. Umma is executive produced by André Øvredal (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark).

Umma opens in theaters on March 18, 2022, followed by a VOD release a few weeks later. The trailer should arrive soon.
