The season 3 premiere of the supernatural horror series “Evil” is only days away. I had a chance to check out the new season and let me tell you, it’s like fine wine, the series only gets better with time.
This season begins “moments after the end of season two: when a newly ordained David (Mike Colter) and Kristen (Kristen Bouchard,) kiss. In season three, the two not only have to navigate this fraught new reality but contend with David’s involvement with “the entity,” an espionage unit within the Catholic church. Meanwhile, Ben (Aasif Mandvi) finds his brain breaking from their unsolved cases and turns to his sister for help.”
Father David struggles with doubts and questions, while Ben is questioning everything, and Kristen continues to face off against Leland (Michael Emerson ) but also struggles to protect her family. I will say this, Kristen’s got bigger balls this season, she’s tired of the bullshit and is ready to put her foot down, and I like it.
This season we see more demons than ever before as well as a few angels. Bravo to the special effects team! The demons look amazing and so freaking real! They do an absolutely brilliant job of bringing these supernatural beings to life.
Robert and Michelle King serve as both the show’s creators and showrunners and I’m so glad that they are able to bring this fantastic series about good vs evil to viewers.
This season is one of my favorites so far, with there being a ton of action, more darkness, more exploration of religion and the supernatural, as well as more about the struggles of regular life and the complex relationships between the characters.
The first two seasons of “Evil” are now streaming on Paramount+, with season 3 premiering on June 12, 2022.
