Banshee by Terry Maggert is a science fiction and fantasy novel I was sent by the author to take a peek at. I intended to review it much sooner, but as you may read in the author’s note below, life is a very fickle thing. Initially what attracted me to this story was the focus on dragons and war. The promise of demons and monsters “sweeping across the planet in a wave of death” had my name written all over it. Who doesn’t love destruction and dragons? Book Description: Cities Fall. Dragons Rise. War Begins. The war for earth began in Hell. First came the earthquakes. Then came the floods. Finally, from the darkened mines, caves and pits, the creatures of our nightmares boiled forth to sweep across the planet in a wave of death. On the run and unprepared, mankind is not alone. We have dragons. Emerging from their slumber, giant dragons select riders to go to war. Their

The 2013 bestselling novel NOS4A2, by Joe Hill, the son of literary legend Stephen King, is getting a TV adaption by AMC according to Deadline. Michael Eisner’s Tornante TV and AMC Studios will be producing the project. The supernatural story centers on Victoria “Vic” McQueen, a young woman with the uncanny ability for finding things lost. Prequels It’s tempting to leave the brilliant Mr. Plinkett Star Wars prequel reviews to suffice for this post. I think they should be used in film classes everywhere. Red Letter Media’s brilliant look at what went wrong with the franchise is without equal and perfectly nails everything wrong with three installments that scarred memories and almost derailed a franchise. The critiques are raunchy and in terrible taste but they are also funny as hell and exquisite. See all of them HERE There are multiple parts for each film, but every single one of them is worth it. Watching the Plinkett critiques was far more entertaining than watching the actual films. &list=PL5919C8DE6F720A2D#action=share To someone who’s under the age of 20 and says his his least favorite film in the series is the Empire Strikes Back because “it was the most boringest one,” can I suggest you shut this review off right now before I carefully explain how much of a fucking

I interviewed Suicide Girl, model, actress, and now published author Pandie Suicide about her short film Massacre for Gores Truly a few weeks ago. When she found out that I did book reviews for Zombie Apocalypse Defense Force, she wanted to hop on board and send me a copy of her debut novel Seraphim Song to review! She also was kind enough to send along a short story called Vampire Summer which is also available on Amazon. Double win! The book absolutely sounds like something I would have written as a teenager (obsession with mythology – check, obsession with music icons – check), so the idea that this is something Pandie wrote as a teen seems realistic. I can’t wait to check out both of these pieces. Book Description: An angel with a musical gift from the gods falls for a mortal woman. Left in limbo on earth, Will A. Is half angel and all rockstar. Doomed to walk alone

‘The Orphanage’ director J.A. Banyona’s new film, ‘A Monster Calls’, is based on the Youth novel of the same name by Patrick Ness. Ness also penned the screenplay for the film. The story centers on Conor, a 13-year-old boy coping with his mother’s terminal illness. Conor, waking from the same nightmare he’s been experiencing for months, “the one with the darkness and the wind and the screaming”, at seven minutes after midnight, hears a voice calling to him from outside his bedroom window, which over looks an old church and a graveyard, sheltered by a yew tree. Walking to the window, Conor meets the monster, a towering mass of branches and leaves in a human shape. The monster insists that Conor summoned it and that it will help him by telling him three short stories, in exchange Conor must tell his own story afterwards. You know the ones you don’t write? Don’t direct? Don’t produce? Let me be more specific: the ones in your heads, on your hard drives or in the reams of your unpublished fan fiction? Right. “Fans” have done more to ruin the enjoyment of the Star Wars franchise than George Lucas. Their rabid love for fantasy product has taken what was once a fun, cinematic experience and turned
