Unintentionally Funny Moments In Serious Horror Movies

When one watches horror movies, the main reason for doing so is to be scared, disturbed, and entertained… not laugh or left dumbfounded by what you just saw. The following list count downs from the least to the most moments in horror films that were probably not meant to be funny but came out that way, and be warned, there are a lot of SPOILERS ahead. 10: Get Out First, we start off with the 2017 directorial debut of Jordan Peele, Get Out. The film is about a young African-American man named Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) who goes to meet his white girlfriend’s (Allison Williams) family who is part of a family ran conspiracy to transplant the brains of its ailing white family members and friends into healthy bodies of African Americans. Rumpelstiltskin: The Tragic Hero

Back in 2017 I wrote an article on Rumpelstiltskin. It was part of a collection (that is slowly ongoing) about how fairy tales are the original horror stories. In that article I called the manikin an “unheralded villain” and wrote about how he tore himself in half in rage when the queen guessed his name. But here is the question: Is Rumpelstiltskin truly evil? Is he a villain? Should he be reviled and cursed? I know that it is easy to villain-ise a little man-troll who threatens to steal children; I know that it is easy to make him a gold-mongering charlatan like in the show ‘Once Upon a Time’ (and Robert Carlyle does an amazing job); I know (as I explained in my other article) that his name is shares etymology with the word poltergeist and it’s hard to put that in a good light; I know it’s easy to fall victim to the motif of a princess always

What Makes ‘Contagion’ The Most Relevant “Horror” Film Right Now?

Alright first off, true, Contagion is not really a horror film, but a thriller but due to recent events going on around the world, it might as well be as there are so many creepy similarities boarding lining with Simpsonsesque foresight which is why the film is more relevant now than when it came out in 2011. What adds credence to the film is the outpouring of praise and support by the scientific community that applaud the film’s showing of what goes on behind the scenes when scientists are put on the front line to fight a pandemic. For those not familiar with the film, Contagion follows the spread of a new (fictitious) virus that becomes known as MEV-1 and how it spread quickly around the world causing mass panic and death while the CDC along with other organizations struggle to find a way to combat the virus as misinformation spreads. WARNING THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD! The Virus The MEV-1

This October A 911 Call Triggers A Search For ‘The Guilty’

This October witness the intense thriller The Guilty, from director Gustav Möller and starring Jakob Cedergren (Compulsion). “When police officer Asger Holm (Jakob Cedergren) is demoted to desk work, he expects a sleepy beat as an emergency dispatcher. That all changes when he answers a panicked phone call from a kidnapped woman who then disconnects abruptly. Asger, confined to the police station, is forced to use others as his eyes and ears as the severity of the crime slowly becomes more clear. The search to find the missing woman and her assailant will take every bit of his intuition and skill, as a ticking clock and his own personal demons conspire against him. This innovative and unrelenting Danish thriller uses a single location to great effect, ratcheting up the tension as twists pile up and secrets are revealed. Director Gustav Möller expertly frames the increasingly messy proceedings against the clean Scandinavian sterility of the police department, while Cedergren’s strong performance
