Watch Over Us opens with the thrill-a-minute action of a bald dude getting turned down for various jobs (he sucks at online dating too because I know you were wondering about that). As heart-stoppingly exciting as that is, we must move on…and we do, as our chrome-domed hero returns home (a dwelling that actually belongs to his invalid father) to eat dinner with his daughters…a dinner that is interrupted by otherworldly sounds and mini-tremors…an event we learn happens frequently. Anyway, the sinister shenanigans continue, but ol’ Daddy Nobucks refuses to move his ever freaked out girls the hell out in a shocking (and probably prosecutable given what’s to follow) case of bad parenting. Before long, the family calls in a priest to investigate the old barn on the property that appears to be the source of the disturbance and a family satanic secret is revealed! Watch Over Us is a real surprise of a fright flick. Utilizing minimalist effects, a

Let’s face it, bugs are a pain but imagine if they were the size of a horse. Witness giant insects attack in the new, full trailer for Marko Mäkilaakso’s (interview) giant bug movie It Came from the Dessert. Starring Vanessa Grasse, Mark Arnold, Harry Lister Smith, Claudia Trujillo, and Alex Mills, and co-written by Trent Haaga, the film was inspired by the video game of the same name. This was his response: The story follows Brian and Lukas who are off to desert for a kegger party and celebrate Lucas’ victory in a motocross competition. Well, here we are, my Little Monsters, it looks as if we’ve all managed to survive yet another Halloween. In fact it’s something that we all have in common with today’s wonderful Woman of Horror. Back in 1978, today’s lovely and talented lady survived an encounter with the “boogeyman” on Halloween night and lived to see another day. I’m speaking of course of the OG scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis. One could say that Jamie may have quite literally been born to be an actress, as she is the daughter of actress Janet Leigh and actor Tony Curtis. She may also have been somewhat predestined to hold the title as THE Scream Queen, as her own mother Janet played the ill fated Marion Crane, in what is regarded as the seminal film of the slasher sub genre of horror, Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. So it may literally be in the blood. Jamie is a California girl, having been born in Santa

I had the opportunity to talk with actor-writer-director-producer Justin Price today who took the time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions about his upcoming film The Elf and The 13th Friday, along with some of his other projects. Horror Fuel: “I’ve heard that you have to loose and gain weight a lot for your roles.” Price: “I had to lose a lot of weight for ‘Alien Reign of Men’. We shot that in Iceland. I thought I would get into some Daniel Day-Lewis character work, right. I tried to look like a heavy, bulky guy, and I put on about 40 pounds. Then I had to drop it, 40 pounds sounds a lot easier than done. Gaining it was easy.” Horror Fuel: “Do you do that a lot?” Price: “What, fluctuate weight? All the time. In ‘The Cloth’ I was about 165, in the ‘Reign of Men’ I was 240, right now I’m at 185. It’s

Have you ever seen a horror picture so sublime in narrative and execution that it becomes almost a spiritual experience to watch it? Well, Bunnyman Vengeance is not that picture. The long and short of the story goes as follows: serial killer Michael (the Bunnyman in question…and in no way a Leatherface surrogate), returns to his home to find his family (who bear no relation to any individuals hailing from Texas) running a haunted attraction that attempts to capitalize on his infamous murder spree. Things go along swimmingly with folks getting slaughtered left and right, but before you know it, the fearsome family is at each other’s throats. That sounds simple and straightforward enough, right? Oh my fiends you are so very, very wrong… So let’s start by saying somethin’ nice about Bunnyman Vengeance. Aesthetically, the film has a ton on the beastly ball. It’s well shot, incredibly artsy for the type of picture it is, contains some really arresting

What could go wrong here I ask ya: Young Margaret goes riding pell mell on her bicycle all around the small Southern town she calls home. Her grandmother (who I will get back to the deeper we go into this revoltin’ review) begins to engage in a near cataclysmic level of frettin’ which lets us know that things are going to take a turn for the lousy AF with utmost quickness. Not convinced enough? How about that foreboding wind and rain that suddenly roll on in? Or how about that murder machine of a man (who drives a hearse because ‘subtle’ is his middle name) that chucks Margaret of a bridge after strangling her. Well, I guess that last one is more like the actual deed than any sort of foreshadowing, but you know what I mean… Anyway, Margaret’s body is fished out of the water and we learn she was knocked up six ways to Sunday when she met

For years horror fans have been talking about how awesome it would be to see a movie featuring all our favorite genre icons, Freddy, Jason, Michael, ect… Max Landis, son of the legendary An American in Werewolf filmmaker John Landis, has dreamed up a mind-blowing film and recently shared his idea, which has been brewing for the past 6 years, with the Nerdist’s Writers Panel podcast. The basic idea is that a 17-year-old kid in the foster system gets placed with a family living on Elm Street, the family of Glen Lantz (Johnny Depp’s character in the original Nightmare on Elm Street movie. On his first night, he is drugged at dinner and encounters Freddy Krueger. Freddy stalks the kid…pops out…claws to the face…dead instantly. Except he’s not and Freddy can’t get his claws out of the kid’s face. All of a sudden, chains, like the movie Hellraiser, go all around Freddy…pull him up and lock him…like he’s a scarecrow.”
