A high-profile limited series reimagining of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 masterpiece, The Birds, is officially taking flight. Emmy winner Sarah Snook (Succession, Run Rabbit Run) is attached to headline the series, which is currently being pitched to top-tier networks and streaming services, Deadline reports. Universal International Studios and Heyday Television are spearheading the project. Premium television veteran Tom Spezialy (The Leftovers, Watchmen) will write and showrun the madness. Get ready for a pure, unadulterated adrenaline shot of elite martial arts mastery and a whole lot of heart. The Plot: Lean, Mean, and Soaked in Vengeance The narrative framework of The Furious is a beautifully stripped-back, no-nonsense vehicle designed for maximum cinematic carnage: When a seemingly ordinary guy, Wang Wei, witnesses his daughter being snatched by a brutal criminal network,

This past weekend, I was scrolling through Prime Video, looking for a good scare. I saw a shiny little badge declaring Blood River (aka River of Blood) as the current #1 horror movie on the service, and I made the catastrophic mistake of hitting play. Now? I am fully convinced that Prime Video’s ranking algorithm is a pathological liar fueled by chaos. We need to talk about this movie, directed by Howard J. Ford and written by Tom Boyle, because I wasted an hour of my life that I can never get back, and my level of annoyance is currently breaking the scale. It’s not even one of those delightfully campy, “so bad it’s good” neighborhood masterpieces. No, friends. It’s just flat-out, aggressively bad. The Plot: An Infidelity Soap Opera… With Cannibals The setup is a beautifully unhinged trainwreck. A group of “friends” embarks on a jungle expedition with a local guide. To maximize the drama, two members of the

If you think you’ve seen every possible iteration of the grizzled, washed-up fighter crawling back into the cage for “one last round,” Lionsgate’s new mixed martial arts movie, Beast, is here to challenge your stamina. Directed by Tyler Atkins, the film aims to prove that while the redemption arc might be a tale as old as time, a fresh coat of paint and some heavy-hitting star power can still make it a total blast. The narrative blueprint is a lean, classic underdog setup. We follow Patton James (Daniel MacPherson), a once-feared, retired MMA champion. Patton’s pulled back into the world of flying knees and chokeholds for cash and to avenge his brother. However, to fix it, Patton must reunite with Sammy (Russell Crowe), the bitter trainer who originally sculpted him into a legend. The ultimate objective? One final, apocalyptic showdown. He faces the reigning titleholder, Xavier Grau (Bren Foster). He’s a man with whom Patton shares a bloody and brutal

We’ve got great news for both horror and gaming fans! Mark “Markiplier” Fischbach has just unleashed his adaptation of Iron Lung on YouTube! His debut directorial feature, one of the most buzzed-about horror films of the year, hasn’t just survived its theatrical run. It absolutely conquered it. It brought in over $51 million against a meager, self-funded production budget of just $3 million. The indie sci-fi horror creep-fest has officially cemented itself as one of the top five highest-grossing horror films of 2026. Based on David Szymanski’s 2022 video game, the film is a masterclass in the “less is more” school of cinematic dread. It proves that audiences are utterly starved for high-concept, original horror. It doesn’t hurt that it broke the world record for fake blood (a casual 80,000 gallons). Bypassing the Studio Gatekeepers For months, fans have been desperately refreshing streaming platforms, waiting for a digital drop. As it turns out, Fischbach wasn’t just looking for a platform
