Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard Is Writing And Directing A Horror Movie

“Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard is branching out, he’s making the leap to filmmaking and is not only writing but is also co-directing the upcoming horror-comedy Hell of a Summer. He will be teaming up with fellow Ghostbusters: Afterlife actor Billy Bryk for the film, Variety is reporting. Wolfhard will also be starring alongside Fear Street‘s Fred Hechinger. “I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film,” Wolfhard said. “I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30West and Aggregate is a real dream.” The details surrounding Hell of a Summer are still being kept quiet, as soon as we know more will let you know. The U.K.’s Arrow Video FrightFest is one of our absolute favorite fear-fare film festivals here at Horror Fuel, and we are pleased to share the poster reveal for this year’s edition. We also can’t wait to tell you about their lineup, which will be revealed this Thursday, July 14! Arrow Video FrightFest is proud to present Graham Humphreys’ stand-out poster design for 2022, which marks the 14th appearance for his iconic Monster. Graham revealed today: “The predominant theme is a celebration of past ‘trophy’ films. I took my inspiration references from an old paperback cover ‘Vincent Price presents: The Price of Fear’, in which Vincent’s head is depicted mounted on a wooden shield. It seemed the perfect way to represent the films, with key portraiture represented as mounted heads. IFC Midnight continues to deliver haunting genre films. The newest film She Will, the directorial debut of Charlotte Colbert. The psychological horror film is produced by horror legend Dario Argento (Suspiria). She Will is a gothic-tinged drama about a declining movie star, Veronica Ghent (Alice Krige), who, after complex surgery, goes to a healing retreat in rural Scotland with her young nurse, Desi (Kota Eberhardt). Veronica starts to confront past traumas endured on movie sets with her own identity in doubt. The two women develop an unlikely bond as mysterious natural forces of the wilderness give Veronica the power to enact revenge. The award-winning film took home “Best First Feature” at the Locarno Film Festival. It was screened at notable festivals worldwide, including the London Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Sitges, and Thessaloniki. Stephen King fans were excited back in April to learn that Gary Dauberman‘s new adaptation of the vampire tale Salem’s Lot is on its way. The film was set to premiere in theaters this September, but that’s no longer the case. The movie has sadly been hit with a major delay and will now premiere in April of 2023, according to Deadline.
