Priest Warns “Dark Tourist” Host David Farrier That He Entered A Pact With A Demon

A few weeks ago we interviewed David Farrier, host of the Netflix series “Dark Tourist“. One of the episodes we talked about with David was episode seven, the trip he took to a Voodoo festival in Ouidah, Africa. While at the festival he participated in a ritual led by a Voodoo priestess named Martine (pictured with Farrier below). Earlier today David revealed on Facebook that he received a message from a priest, Father Klement. According to the Catholic priest during the ceremony, David unwittingly entered into a pact with a demon. In the copied message Father Klement urged David to seek professional, spiritual help and even an exorcism. So far, David has not expressed any real concern. While I am more worried about the radiation, in the long run, it was nice to get the message from the priest, who was kind enough to reach out.” David told us about the message. “Who knows, I might take him up on

‘The Purge’ Star Rhys Wakefield Talks Psychopaths & New Projects In An Interview

One of the most memorable scenes from The Purge franchise stars Rhys Wakefield as that well-dressed young killer who gave the family in the first film an ultimatum as he grinned like the Chesire cat. That smile is hard to forget. Rhys has starred in many other roles than just in The Purge. He went diving in Sanctum, he went to school in After the Dark, co-starred in Echoes of War, appeared alongside Terrence Howard in Cardboard Boxer, and played the role of Lucas on the long-running series “Home and Away“. Now, he gearing up to make his directorial debut. Rhys sat down with me to talk about it and his role in The Purge as well as the soon to be released thriller The Grand Son (aka American Pets). Bruce Campbell Talks Life After Ash And Much More In An Interview

Bruce Campbell, that’s a name every horror fan knows. The writer/actor/director/producer has been involved in so many iconic films and series. One of the jewels in his crown is The Evil Dead franchise in which he plays the unforgettable character Ashley “Ash” Williams. His “Ash vs Evil Dead” series premiered back in 2015 on Starz, giving us three seasons of Ash, along with his deadite fighting sidekicks Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) and Pablo (Ray Santiago) as well as the sometimes evil Ruby (Lucy Lawless). Fans were heartbroken to learn earlier this year that “Ash vs Evil Dead” wouldn’t return for a fourth season. Soon Bruce announced that Ash had been permanently retired, leaving fans to wonder what was next for the one-of-a-kind, suave, badass. When I had the opportunity to talk with Bruce I jumped at the chance (and with excitement) to find out what is next for our favorite leading man and ask a few questions that I’ve always wanted

Sebastian Gutierrez Tells Us About ‘Elizabeth Harvest’ And More In An Interview

Sebastian Gutierrez’s gem of a thriller, Elizabeth Harvest, will soon arrive in theaters and On Demand. Ahead of its release, I had the opportunity to talk with Gutierrez, the same man behind Gothika, Snakes on a Plane, The Eye, and Girl Who Walks Into a Bar, about his new visually striking film that has more twists than a Slinky factory. Abby Lee stars as Elizabeth, a young newlywed who arrives at her new husband’s (Cirán Hinds) home. He explains to her that everything that is his now belongs to her – all except for a locked room he forbids her to enter. When he goes on a trip she can’t resist entering the room, but when she does, her whole life comes crashing down. Sebastian: “Elizabeth Harvest is an old-fashioned European horror. Don’t you think?” Horror Fuel: “I do. It has a similar feel as the original Suspiria.” Sebastian: “It’s influenced by Dario Argento. There was a strain of horror

John Macaluso Tells Us About Fandemic Comic-Con In An Interview

John Macaluso, a name once associated with the fashion industry, then the CEO of Wizard World, is now head of one of the best new Comic-Cons around, Fandemic. John took a few minutes out of his very busy schedule to talk with me about Fandemic ahead of its September arrival. Horror Fuel: “How did you go from being in the garment industry to conventions?” John Macaluso: “It’s funny that you ask that. I sold my company in 2000 and retired. In 2010 my wife and my kid sat me down and said ‘We’re really happy that you’re retired, but you are driving us crazy. You need to go back to work.’ I got invited to go on a tour of Wizard World and I realized that I really liked what they were doing and they asked me to become the CEO, so I got involved in the event business.” Horror Fuel: “Tell me about Fandemic? What sets it apart from

Writer, director, and producer Lou Simon sat down with me to discuss women in the film industry and her latest genre film 3. Behind films like All Girls Weekend, Hazmat, Agrophobia, and The Awakened, Lou has been making her mark in the genre for years and seems to know just what to do to get a message across to fans. In 3: An Eye For An Eye “A man and a woman kidnap her rapist in order to extract a confession from him. They need to get his confession on tape because he has made up an alibi. Locked up in the basement of a remote home, he is unwilling to confess on camera and continues to assert his innocence. With time running out, how far are they willing to go for justice and what if they are wrong?” Horror Fuel: “What is it like to be a woman in the film industry these days?” Lou: “Well, it’s hard being

David Farrier Talks The Macabre And His Netflix Series “Dark Tourist”

Earlier this week I was scrolling through Netflix looking for something to watch. I was hoping to find something dark and interesting. I came across a new series, “Dark Tourist” and it fit the bill. I had no idea just how interesting it would be. The series, currently on the “Trending” list, follows host David Farrier as he travels to dark tourist locations, including many dangerous ones. After binge-watching season one of the show I had to talk to David, luckily, he was willing to answer some questions. “Dark Tourist” takes David to locations like Japan’s Suicide Forest and Fukushima. We watch as he spends time with a killer, he participates in a Voodoo initiation, and he took part in burial rites that include sacrifices and we see a family dig up the dead to pay their respects and to redress them. Now, we have our fingers crossed for a second season. David Farrier wears a lot of hats. He’s

Indie Horror ‘The Nursery’ Coming To DVD

Indie horror The Nursery is set to arrive on DVD this August with a ton of extras including insightful audio commentary by the filmmakers, a “making of” featurette, and more. To get a full-blown DVD release of The Nursery is incredibly exciting,” The Nursery’s Executive Producers—Glenn Chung, Chris Micklos, and Jay Sapiro—said in a joint statement. “We wanted to give our fans some fun and interesting extras that would get them behind the scenes of The Nursery and give them a sense of what this journey has been like for us as first-time filmmakers. And the DVD has given us the perfect opportunity to do that!” Inspired by genre standouts like Halloween, Phantasm, and House of the Devil, the film centers on a damaged college sophomore who babysits for a family with a tragic history. She finds herself stalked by a sinister presence and haunted by ghosts from her own past. Soon, she and her friends must confront the angry
