Movie Review: Blood Craft (2019)

Ol’ Grace (Madeleine Wade), your friendly neighborhood sex worker, heads back to her hometown after the passing of her pappy, Minister Hall (Dave Sheridan). Now you may think Hall was a peaceful, man o’ God sort, but he was anything but…in fact the dude was a full-on sadistic son of a bitch. Once there, Grace reunites with her equally damaged sister, Serena (Augie Duke)…and the duo start reminiscing about what a shit-heel Hall was. So, what do these sibs do to heal the wounds of the past? Why resurrect their abusive paternal unit via their legacy of witchcraft then torture his ass but good…as one does! I’m gonna level with you up front boils n’ ghouls; Blood Craft kinda hit me harder than I though it would. I was definitely expecting some straight up horror biz/E.C. Comics style action from this pic…and I definitely got that for sure…but there’s an undercurrent of incest and abuse that can definitely play on

Psychological-Horror Game ‘Someday You’ll Return’ Coming Fall 2019

What could be described as a lovechild between Outlast 2, Firewatch, Resident Evil 7, and Vanishing of Ethan Carter; comes a whole new psychological-horror adventure game, Someday You’ll Return. The game comes from the 2-man indie developer team out of Brno, CBE Software. This first-person experience follows Daniel as he searches the Moravian forests for his runaway daughter Stela. It’s a mystery as to why Stela chose these woods that Daniel swore he would never return to, which adds to the mystery of WHY does he not want to go back there. Daniel will encounter locals and supernatural forces that will help fill in the blanks of his past and answer why Stela is always running away from home. The game is horror but has a strong narrative-driven exploration element as the open world (a forest) is full of trails that can be explored using Daniel’s tracking skills and rock-climbing ability. There’s also a crafting mechanic where you can create

Blu-ray Review: Blood Hunger: The Films Of Jose Larraz (1970 – 1978)

When I heard Arrow Video (along with our ghoulishly good pals at MVD Entertainment) were releasing a collection of films from famed genre director Jose Larraz, I was excited as…as…okay, I wasn’t excited; in fact I had barely any idea who this cat even was (though I had seen the remake of his film Vampyres back in 2015, and I dug that…but more on that title in a bit). So let’s see what all the hub bub is about this guy shall we? First on the collection is: The Coming of Sin (1978): You know shit is going to go sour when worlds collide in a film with the word “sin” in the title, and boy-fuckin’-howdy do they ever here. When an illiterate and superstitious gypsy girl comes to stay with a worldly female artist in her secluded, rural abode, the nightmares come fast and furious…like actual nightmares of a naked mother fucker on a horse who’s into the kink…and

‘The Conjuring 3’ Set To Begin Filming

One of the biggest horror film franchises of the decade will soon begin filming its third film. I’m of course talking about The Conjuring franchise which became an entire universe. James Wan won’t be directing The Conjuring 3. Instead, we are left in the capable hands of Michael Chaves who is about to deliver his haunting tale The Curse of La Llorona to theaters this April. Hand-picked by Wan to direct, Chaves’s Conjuring 3 is said to be connected to the case of Bill Ramsey also known as The Southend Werewolf, which is based on a true story. Ramsey, a husband, and father of three from Essex, England, suddenly began to believe he was possessed by a demon that manifested as a wolf or a werewolf. Ramsey was said to have developed an inhuman strength, he growled, bared his teeth, and that he walked with hunched shoulders. While it hasn’t been confirmed, Wan did mention the possibility of a werewolf
