The Amityville legend continues to grow. A new film about the allegedly haunted house will premiere this October, The Amityville Murders, from writer-director Daniel Farrands. But this time, we will witness the original events that led to the night an entire family was gunned down in their sleep by one of their own. “On the night of November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. took a high-powered rifle and murdered his entire family as they slept. At his trial, DeFeo claimed that “voices” in the house commanded him to kill. This is their story.” John Robinson, Chelsea Ricketts, Paul Ben-Victor, Diane Franklin, Noa Brenner, Zane Austin, and Kue Lawrence star as the DeFeo family. Eric Brenner, Lucas Jarach, and Daniel Farrands (A Haunting in Connecticut) produced. German Michael Torres of CineTel Films and Jim Jacobson serve as executive producers. The Amityville Murders open in theaters on October 15, 2018.

As the title of this article says, a new video game is coming next year with a twist; a musical romantic comedy about a grim reaper named Felix. “Felix the Reaper” is a puzzle game being independently developed by Danish game developer Kong Orange. Players will take on the role of the titled character, Felix, who works for the Ministry of Death, but alas, Felix is in love with Betty the Maiden who works for the Ministry of Life. Felix hopes to meet Betty while on the job as he works in the human world reaping souls as he groves to the tunes on his walkman. In each level, Felix works in the shadows (as he dances to music) where he can manipulate the surroundings to cause the death of a mortal. Random Media is taking viewers on a trip to the other side with the limited theatrical release of Michael Mongillo‘s Diane, the story of a wounded veteran and the beautiful corpse he stumbles across that leads him down a rabbit hole. The film held its world premiere at FrightFest in London, where BritFlicks described Mongillo’s latest as “Jacob’s Ladder meets Memento“. The film later had its US premiere at the New York City Horror Film Festival and was a nominee for Best Independent Limited Release at the Rondo Classic Hatton Horror Awards. Italian game developer Lunar Great Wall Studios will be taking gamers on a unique journey through London’s underground in their upcoming game, “Another Sight”. The game takes place in a steampunk-like world where the year is 1899. The story follows a teenage girl named Kit who while exploring an underground construction site lost her sight after the tunnel collapsed. In the darkness, she meets a mysterious talking cat named Hodge and the two begin to explore the mysterious world under London’s streets. Both Kit and Hodge have unique attributes that will help them solve puzzles, and exploring the fantasy world that seems to exist. Within this world, the two soon discover that they’re not alone as there’s a mysterious society made up of history’s great cultural icons like Claude Monet, Nikola Tesla and others whose encounters will change the landscape surrounding Kit and Hodge. “Another Sight” will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018.

When it comes to horror movies you don’t get much more iconic than The Evil Dead, written and directed by Sam Raimi. The 1981 classic is getting a 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack this October, featuring “Audio Commentary” from Raimi, star Bruce Campbell, and producer Robert Tapert. The 4K Ultra version features incredible resolution, a higher sound quality, and Dobly Vision HDR which brings new life to the film with an enhanced range of colors. The Evil Dead spawned an entire franchise that lasted for nearly forty years including Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness and the series “Ash vs Evil Dead”. Four online buddies are all murdered on the same night in locations all across the country, and while that would be a bit on the completely fucking weird side, a mysterious masked figure assures us that a freakin’ demon was responsible. After that totally responsible explanation we are shown the “actual” recorded chat of said event as we are introduced to our protagonists via their “not quite Skype” chitting of the chat. Things border on the mundane until one of the participants, Mar (Ryan Redebaugh) quizzes his grandmother on camera about the legend of a cursed trunk in their home’s attic…which of course that ass-hair opens with the quickness…which results in a lame prank…oh, and actually releases a demonic force. After more high-larious pranks (which aren’t) things get down to the whitchy wickedness as blood rites are performed, pentagrams magically appear on flesh, and sex and murder go hand in hand…and no one can be trusted as the evil spreads

Ol’ Travis (Ben Hethcoat), one of your floppy haired actor types, heads out to the middle of East Asshair Nowhere to lay to rest the ashes of his deceased chum Paul (I would have just flushed that bitch and went for a pizza, but hey, to each their own). Once at a cabin at said location, Travis dicks around on his phone, dreams about Paul (as do we all…as do we all) and downs some drinks…be still my heart…Anyway, Travis scatters half the ashes into a stagnant pond (where soggy, silent Paul suddenly appears for a tick), and gets on with his whirlwind of boozin’ and Skypin’. Occasionally something makes it’s presence subtly known…when it wants to…which isn’t often…but is it Paul? Let’s start with what I liked about Show Yourself. Actor Hethcoat makes for an engaging lead; he has a nice range, and he definitely carried the story (more on that below) admirably. Moving on… Holy hell this movie

At this past weekend’s SDCC new footage from Corin Hardy‘s upcoming Conjuring spin-off, The Nun was shown, unfortunately, it hasn’t made its way on to the internet yet. But that’s not all, during The Nun panel, Hardy recounted a creepy story about a Romain Castle and some paranormal activity experienced during filming. He went into more details during a conversation with Cinema Blend. Was the set of The Nun haunted? Hardy seems to think so. According to the filmmaker… We were shooting in a real Romanian fortress… it was used to store weapons… like an old bunker,” Hardy told Cinema Blend. “Everyone was a bit unnerved by it. Pitch dark tunnels you could get lost in. So when we shot this sequence… it was called the corridor of crosses, and it was a two hundred foot long corridor… deep, dark, dank.
