Giger, players awaken in a once heavily industrial civilization that has now fallen to ruin that seems to have blended biological material and machine together turning the world into a nightmarish landscape of hell. To unravel the mystery of the world around them, players will solve intricate puzzles in their search for unsettling answers and slowly come to understand their existence all the while having limited ammo and health. Wild Eye Releasing has now announced details on a special edition Blu-ray of Tom Savini: Smoke and Mirrors, the acclaimed documentary that explores the celebrated career of special makeup effects legend, actor, director, and stuntman Tom Savini. Smoke and Mirrors covers everything, from his childhood in Pittsburgh, PA, to his tour of duty during Vietnam, to his beginnings with George A. Romero, and beyond. Blu-ray extras will include commentary with Tom Savini and director Jason Baker, hours of Tom’s personal video archives, including behind-the-scenes footage from movies like Day of the Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn, Creepshow, Friday the 13th Part 4, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. A collectible folded poster also comes with the purchase. The Blu-ray will be released just in time for Halloween.

Team 17 and Woodland Games announced today their upcoming simulation game that will either intrigue you or make your skin crawl, Autopsy Simulator. Players will take on the role of a Pathologist and work on cases to solve the mysteries behind the deaths of individuals. Real Pathologists collaborated with the devs to help bring this simulation to life with anatomically correct bodies with organs, along with the tools that real Pathologists use during their examinations. Autopsy Simulator will also include Autopsy Simulator: Dead Memories, a self-contained, narrative-driven psychological horror experience set in 1990s New Orleans that follows the story of Jack, a middle-aged pathologist whose life has taken a turn for the worse after a personal tragedy. Players will unravel a gripping mystery as Jack battles his inner demons while performing a range of medically accurate post-mortem procedures. Autopsy Simulator will be coming to PC this November.

In 2015, the horror gaming world was changed with Until Dawn, a horror game that was more like an interactive movie where the players directed where the story goes either purposely or completely by accident. The team behind the hit, Supermassive Games has gone on to work on the critically acclaimed “Dark Pictures Anthology” series that took the mechanics of Until Dawn and made individual games with unique stories. Supermassive is back with its own tale to tell in the 80s slasher-inspired interactive narrative, The Quarry. The Quarry follows a group of “Teenage” camp counselors who have to stay the night at the campgrounds after their ride out is disabled. Ignoring advice about staying indoors, the “Kids” throw themselves a party that attracts the attention of someone…or something, in the woods resulting in them fighting to survive till morning. Focus Entertainment and Tindalos Interactive, in collaboration with 20th Century Studios, have announced their upcoming single-player bug hunt that will take players to the Lethe moon with a squad of Colonial Marines in Aliens: Dark Descent. The game will feature an original story set in the “Alien” universe with a cast of new Marines with old threats along with new sinister ones lurking in the shadows. Recruit, gear up and customize your squad of Marines with an extensive arsenal of weapons, armor, and special abilities while exploring, as enemies will adapt as your marines gather resources. If any Marines fall during your mission, their death is permanent so players will have to lead their squad as skillful as possible and use their surroundings to their advantage! Aliens: Dark Descent will be dropping in 2023 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Lunar Software’s sci-fi horror ROUTINE was first shown to the world back in 2013 but since then went dark, but thankfully with the added help of developer Raw Fury, the game had life breathed back into it and has since matured since its first appearance with the addition of renowned composer Mick Gordon (Doom, Prey, Wolfenstein: The New Order) providing the atmospheric score and sound effects. ROUTINE is a first-person horror that takes place on the surface of the moon in a lunar base that has been left abandoned for unknown reasons. You now explore the base to find out why. with only a tool that is used for connecting with computers as the only thing you carry as you must outwit any threats that still lurk in the lunar darkness of the station. ROUTINE will be coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Game Pass eventually as no official release date has been announced yet.

When it comes to pop culture memorabilia, it’s hard to find something unique to add to your collection that’s made by just anyone, massed produced, and sold pretty much everywhere. Well, I just discovered Insight Editions, a publisher of both books and collectibles that are known for their cookbooks based on popular shows, movies, and video games. Some of the more unique items they have in stock are Tarot Cards based on movies and shows, the most intriguing being the Tarot del Toro! I want to thank Insight Editions for helping to make this review possible! As you probably already guessed, the Tarot del Toro is a tarot deck based on the works of Guillermo del Toro. The deck comes with a guidebook on the meaning of all the cards as well as how to read them which is good if you intend to use them. Striking Distance Studios, Inc. and KRAFTON, Inc. today released the gameplay trailer for The Callisto Protocol, a new sci-fi survival horror game from the creator of DeadSpace! Along with the trailer comes the announcement of the game starring Josh Duhamel (Jupiter’s Legacy) and Karen Fukuhara (The Boys, Suicide Squad). The Callisto Protocol is a third-person horror that takes place on Jupiter’s moon Callisto at a maximum-security prison colony called Black Iron where Jacob Lee (Duhamel) a cargo ship pilot who has become stuck within the prison along with a mysterious inmate (Fukuhara) who are trying to find a way to escape after a mysterious outbreak plunged the prison into horrific chaos. Players will have to explore and search their surroundings and adapt their tactics as they have to fight for survival either with shooting or close-range weapons against terrifying monsters. CAPCOM has announced that their popular 2005 title Resident Evil 4 which was the debut of the over-the-shoulder view gameplay in the game series, is getting a gritty and darker remake! Players will take on the role of Leon S. Kennedy as he is tasked with rescuing the daughter of the president of the United States after a cult in Spain kidnaped her, bringing him to a mysterious village where something is wrong with the locals. The game will feature old and new events in the game’s story as it will delve deeper than it originally has to make the experience for new and old fans to enjoy. Resident Evil 4 will make its return on March 24th, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.
