ITV’s new series, ‘Jekyll and Hyde’, has triggered a landslide of hundreds of complaints, the reason? The complainants declare that the show is “too scary”, at least according to The Guardian. TV regulator Ofcom told The Guardian that it has received over 460 complaints about the show, the TV station itself has received over 300, mainly because people feel the show is too scary for its 6:30 p.m. time slot, which makes me really want to watch it. The site stated “Jekyll and Hyde featured potentially disturbing images from the start, with one character bludgeoned to death within the first minute, and further violent deaths including someone being set on fire and another being shot in the stomach.” ITV has already stated that they have no plan to move ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ to a different time slot, at least not until the season is over. Director Joe Dante (Gremlins, Burying the Ex) and director Mick Garris (Sleepwalkers, Hocus Pocus) will be directing segments of ‘Nightmare Cinema’, a new horror anthology film. The five stories that make the film will be directed by five masters of horror. The other three segments will be from directors Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Meat Train), David Slade (Hannibal), Alejandro Brugues (Jaun of the Dead). The international team of directors will be working off of scripts written by Richard Christian Matheson, Sandra Becerril, David Slade, and Garris. ‘Nightmare Cinema’ is expected to begin filming in early 2016. In an interview with Shock Till You Drop, Garris had this to say about the project: “This is a feature-film collection of unique horror stories linked only by a desire to reach in and grab you by the terror gland, made by a group of directors from around the world, each with a vision unlike any other,” Garris told the site. “It’s the same philosophy

Legendary Pictures in-conjunction with Universal will be unleashing ‘Krampus’ this holiday season. They have just gifted us all with the film’s new poster and the new TV spot. This horror-comedy follows Max, played by Emjay Anthony (Insurgent). The young man has turned his back on Christmas during the holiday, as his family’s dysfunction reaches an all time high. Krampus, an ancient deity who punishes bad children on Christmas, is the exact opposite of lovable Saint Nick. Krampus is unleashed and the bickering family must find a way to work to together if they want to survive. This twisted version of a holiday movie stars ‘Parks and Recreation’ actor Adam Scott, Toni Collette (Hostages), Allison Tolman (Fargo), David Koechner (Anchorman), Conchata Ferrell (Mr. Deeds) and Stefania Owen of ‘The Lovely Bones’. ‘Krampus’ was written by Todd Casey and Michael Dougherty, who also directed the film. I hope you’ve been good, ‘Krampus’ will be coming to town on December 4th.

Bad news for ‘Twin Peaks’ fans, the new series will not be airing until 2017. The series already had one delay this year, when David Lynch and Showtime clashed over budget issues and other details of the series. The problem worked themselves out and Showtime agreed to nine-plus episodes directed by Lynch, according to IMDb there will be eighteen episodes. The revival comes twenty-five years after the original series’ premiere. Dana Ashbrook, Sheryl Lee, Kyle MacLachlan, Kimmy Robertson, Lara Flynn Boyle , Piper Laurie, Ray Wise, Joan Chen, Madchen Amick and Sherilyn Fenn will be returning for the series. They will be joined by new cast members, including Amanda Seyfried.

Lauren Cohan should look familiar, she plays Maggie in the hit TV show ‘The Walking Dead’, she has also starred in ‘Death Race 2′ (2010), Van Wilder (2006) and in the TV shows ‘Supernatural’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Cohan is now stepping into her first lead role in the film ‘The Boy’, from Lakeshore Entertainment and Vertigo Entertainment. CBS is adapting Stefan Petrucha’s best-selling novel ‘Dead Mann Walking’ for a new TV series. ‘Continuum’ creator Simon Barry will be penning the script for the series, according to THR. Barry “After Hessius Mann was wrongfully convicted of his wife’s murder, suppressed evidence came to light and the verdict overturned. Too bad he was already executed, but thanks to modern science, he was brought back to life, sort of. Now that he’s joined the ranks of Fort Hammer’s pulse challenged population, Hessius attempts to make a “living” as a private investigator. But when a missing persons case leads to a few zombies cut to pieces, Hessius starts thinking that someone’s giving him the run-around and it’s not like he’s in any condition to make a quick getaway…”

A while back we reported that ‘The Crow’ remake was dead in the water, due to Relativity Media’s bankruptcy. Well, it seems that the movie is alive again and is planned to be Relatively Media’s first post-bankruptcy film. Producer Edward J. Pressman has been credited with saving the film by filing an objection saying the remake could be seen as an asset to the company. The studio’s announcement that they were moving forward with ‘The Crow’ may be due to the fact ‘The Hollow’ directer, Corin Hardy, has now signed on for remake. A horde of actors, including Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans and Jack Huston have been attached to play the main character of Eric Draven, originally played by Brandon Lee, but none have stuck around for long. It’s been roughly a month since Romero’s Aftermath released their Open Beta on Steam and it has been going fairly steady. The Free-to-Play game now has over 1 million players, and while Free Reign Entertainment has gotten some flak in the past, it seems they have changed their ways and learned from their past mistakes. The game may still be chock full of micro-transactions, most are for aesthetic customization, but the others that actually enhance gameplay – weapon upgrades, shelter crafting, etc. – can all be acquired in game, albeit through hours upon hours of gameplay. While it does seem to try and steer you towards spending more money, it’s not at all necessary to enjoy the game. Zombies show up frequently enough that you’re not just wandering for hours with nothing, and there’s enough people playing at any one time that you constantly need to watch your back for other players.
