A Serial Killer Speaks Through Best Selling Audiobooks

Everyone has listened to at least one audiobook in their life. But what you may have been unaware of while listening to the story in your car or at the gym, is that there is a chance that you may have been hearing the voice of a serial killer. Run by serial killer Edmund Kemper III, there was a program at the California Medical Facility State Prison called Volunteers of Vacaville aka the “Blind Project”. The inmates in the program recorded thousands of books, novels, textbooks, and even cookbooks on tape. Some of those recordings have been transferred to digital copies. From 1977 to 1987 alone, Kemper spent over 5,000 hours recording more than four million feet of tape. The project is still alive and well today and continues to operate at the prison. Actor Mistaken As Robber And Shot At By Police On A Movie Set

A film shoot almost turned deadly when an actor on a movie set was mistaken by police as an armed robber. News station Fox 59 is reporting that in Crawfordsville, Indiana a call came into the police dept. reporting an armed robbery in progress at the Backstep Brewery on North Green Street. When police arrived they spotted a man in a ski mask exiting the building with a gun in his hand. The officers told the man to drop his weapon. Upon the command the robber, who in reality was actor Jim Duff, he turned to face the officers and was shot at. After the shot was fired he dropped the gun (a movie prop), pulled off the mask and told officers, “This is a movie set”. Jury Finds Slender Man Attacker Not Guilty Due To Mental Illness

Back in 2014, two 12-year-old Milwaukee girls committed an unthinkable crime that rocked the nation. The girls stabbed their friend Payton Geyser 19 times after luring her into woods. The victim somehow found the strength to drag herself onto a bicycle path where a passing bicyclist found her. Luckily, Geyser survived the ordeal. The reason the girls gave for committing the heinous act, they did it to win favor with the character Slender Man, a figure who was born in a Creepypasta story by Eric Knudsen. After 3 years one of the girls, Anissa Weier, has finally had her day in court where she plead guilty to attempted second-degree intentional homicide. The verdict came down that Weier will avoid prison. Instead, she will be committed to a mental hospital where she will wait out her 3-year sentence. What was Jeffrey Dahmer like before he became an infamous serial killer? The upcoming film My Friend Dahmer will answer that by explore the killer’s teenage years. A Brutal Series Of Film Related Robberies Are Plaguing California

When an area becomes a popular place to film it can attract two types of surges, the good, with things like an increase in tourism or, the bad, with an increase crime. Recently, there has been a lot of the later in southern California. Over the past two years there has been a huge jump in crime targeting film crews and it’s something we all need to talk about. At 8 am on Sunday, July 16th, 71 year-old Ed French, a well known fixture in commercial production, was scouting locations for a commercial at the Twin Peaks Overlook in San Francisco. What started out as a beautiful morning quickly turned into a nightmare. French was approached by an African American man with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a woman in her late teens. Eli Roth To Produce New Amityville Movie ‘1974’

Eli Roth is a busy man. Not only is Roth producing the upcoming Halloween film Haunt, he will also be producing the upcoming film 1974 that will explore the true story behind one of the most well known haunted houses, the Amityville house. Casey La Scala, who produced the long delayed movie Amityville: The Awakening, will be in the director’s chair. Production is set to begin this September and will center on the DeFeo murders murders that took place one year before the Lutz family moved into the house, only to leave 28 days later after a plague of paranormal activity. 1974 will be the first film about the happenings at the Amityville house that will feature the Defeo murders. ‘Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders’ Adds Several Cast Member

The new season of NBC’s Law & Order True Crime will focus on The Menendez brothers, Lyle ( Miles Gaston Villanueva) and Eric (Gus Halper), who brutally gunned down their wealthy parents in 1989 in hopes of inheriting their parent’s fortune. The infamous bothers were convicted in 1994 of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without the chance of parole. Man Arrested At Comic Con With Multiple Weapons And A Kill List

For fans attending a convention this might sound like a normal scene, a man carrying weapons and taking photos. No biggie right? Every fan convention and Comic Con sees their fair share of cosplayers (people dressed as characters from tv, movies or books). You don’t really think about all the bad things that could happen, like someone coming onto the convention floor armed to the teeth with real weapons. At the Phoenix Comic Con this past week, that scenario became a reality. News has been coming in over the past few days about the situation. The man, identified as Matthew Sterling, was carrying several weapons, including a knife, and four loaded firearms, including a shotgun, ammunition, various handheld weapons and was wearing body armor, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
