DVD Review: Followers (2017)
Two amazingly perfect social media fitness-centric “celebrities” head out into the deep woods for a lil’ R&R (which they plan to record every minute of…which is a needed conceit seeing as how this is a found footage fright flick and all). But there is more to this yarn, as two online documentary film makers who want to prove how easy it is to track someone on social media and find them no matter where they are, follow our couple into those aforementioned woods…but just what do they plan on doing to them once they are found? While on the surface Followers may not appear to be the most original horror picture you could ever see (especially blending found footage and stalk n’ slay elements), but it has some clever use of social media elements (including a Facetime cold open murder to start things off), and Actors Amanda Delaney and Justin Maina as our comely protagonists do a really solid job

Statue Of Doctor J. Marion Sims Removed From Central Park
WARNING: some information in this article may be considered disturbing A Doctor sworn to uphold the Hippocratic oath to do no harm but to heal decides to ignore the oath for his own place in history and performs experiments on victims in the name of science… Sounds like an interesting premise for a Netflix show or movie but sometimes reality is scarier than fiction. After a five-month review, an 18-person panel formed by New York City Mayor de Blasio decided that the statue of Doctor J. Marion Sims, known as the father of gynecology, to be removed from Central Park due to inhumane medical experiments performed on African-American slave women. Sims perfected the surgical technique of fistula tears between the vagina and bladder or rectum which can occur during childbirth and if left untreated can cause massive infections leading to death post birth for women in the 19th century. Sims is also credited with the invention of the surgical/examination tool

Natalie Burn, who has appeared in films such as The Expendables III, Awaken, and The Lagoon, took the time out of her busy schedule to talk with me about her role in the film The Executioners (review). The Executioners follows four female friends who go on a retreat to a secluded lakeside cabin. Soon the women realize that they are not alone. When masked intruders invade the cabin the women are thrown into a fight for survival. I’ll be honest, I found The Executioners very hard to watch due to the violence depicted towards the female cast (multiple rapes), so when I was given the chance to ask Natalie about the film I took it. I wanted to know what she went through as an actress during filming. Horror Fuel: “One of your most recent film roles was in ‘The Executioners’, what initially drew you to the script?” Natalie Burn: “I was lucky enough to be one of the first
