The 13 Most Disturbing Kids In Horror

There are few things creepier in a horror film than children. To see someone meant to be sweet and innocent be twisted into a villain really gets under your skin. Typically, there are four types of children in horror films, The Witness, The Villain, The Victim and The Non-Victim A good example of “The Witness” are the Grady Twins, they are there to witness the horror but not actually threaten Danny in The Shining. There are a ton of examples of “Villain” characters in horror, including Damien and Esther. Children who play “The Villain” frequently appear as normal at first then turn dark, like Esther. A lot of the time we see them use their appearance to get close to their victims. There are always casualties in horror films, it’s not often when you see a child fall victim in a movie, but it does happen. Regan and Toshio are good examples. In both cases, they were children who fell

The Interview With The Vampire Reboot Confirmed

We reported back in May that a reboot of Interview with the Vampire was in the works under the direction of Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) who will be working with writer-producer Jill Lillington. Boone posted a photo on his Instagram account revealing that two of Anne Rice’s novels, Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat, would be combined for the film. “We’re really focusing on The Vampire Lestat, but we are using elements from some of the other books as well.” Boone said recently in an interview with Nightmare Magazine. The big question is who will star in the reboot. Boone hinted that Jared Leto may have the part when he tweeted a picture of the actor with the caption “Lestat – there can be only one. #JaredLeto”. However, Anne Rice has since asked her fans who they would like to see as Lestat, which leaves us a bit confused as to if Leto is still

A Deleted Scene Surfaces From Jaws

As summer time arrives our thoughts begin to drift to sun-drenched beaches and the deep water beyond. I don’t know about you, but when I think about the beach, the first thing that comes to mind is not bikini-clad women or the men strutting their stuff, it’s the water and the distinct possibility that a shark is lurking nearby, all thanks to Jaws, which was released on this day on this day (June 20th) in 1975. Directed by Stephen Spielberg and written by Carl Gottlieb and Peter Benchley, based on his novel, Jaws forever changed the way we see sharks. It made some fear the water, others (like me) it made them want to get into the water more than ever. Did you know that there is a scene from Jaws that never made it onto the film? The reason, it was deemed too graphic, too shocking for audiences to handle. It shows the death of Alex Kitner, a young

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark Getting A Documentary

Most of you will remember from your childhood the anthology book series Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz with illustrations by Stephen Gammell. I remember reading them under the covers at night with a flashlight when I was young (6 or 7). I remember the fear I felt, and how I enjoyed it. There is now a documentary in the works by Cody Meirick that delves into the history of the series and some of those in the current horror industry, as well as those in the literary industry, that were inspired by the books. The documentary will feature interviews with Schwartz’s family, folklorists, scholars and authors, including Goosebumps author R.L. Stine, and the effect Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark had on their lives and work. Guillermo del Toro is also working on a project involving Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. He will be creating a feature film adaption of the spooky

In a recent interview with The Movie Crypt Podcast Stephen Chiodo, the directer and co-writer of the original, explained that a TV series may be the right way to go. “Right now, we are currently pursuing a long arch series for cable. We wondered, should we do a sequel to the first one or do we do a remake? We came up with a “requel” – it’s a sequel and remake. We’ve been developing this for a while, it’s a trilogy in four parts, and it really follows the continuing adventures of new people who are experiencing this phenomenon of a Klown invasion, and once in a while you see some of the old guys pop up and hear their stories – find out what happened over the
