Interview: Chris Welsh Of “Wart-The Comic”

A bit about the book from it’s creator: Wart is an original horror comic series starring Wart Bellamy, an unfortunate young fellow ripped from his reality and tossed into a mysterious, other-worldly ‘Asylum for the Belligerently Insane’. It’s written by Chris Welsh (from the UK) and drawn by Ammar Al-Chalabi (from The Netherlands). There are monsters, cults, ghosts, rats, and a shady doctor in charge of the whole thing. Wart’s story takes him through multiple dimensions that threaten both his physical health and his crumbling sanity. Along the way he makes friends, enemies and gets incrementally closer to finding out just what the hell is going on. The series is independently published, Lovecraft-influenced cosmic horror that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Our first two books have been incredibly well received, and we’ve just launched the Kickstarter to fund Book Three. I was fortunate enough to be able to ask the writer of Wart, Chris Welsh, a few questions for this

‘The Girl In 6E’ Being Adapted

EuroCorp and Vertigo Entertainment, the studio behind ‘The Strangers’ and the upcoming reboot of ‘IT’, are working in conjunction on the adaption of ‘The Girl in 6E’, based on the novel by A.R. Torre. Torre researched the world of web-cam girls by becoming one herself to make sure the story was as realistic as possible. Now that’s dedication. The screenplay is set to be written by Chloe King, daughter of Zaleman King, the man behind the series ‘Red Shoes Diaries’. The story follows a young woman suffering from an extreme case of agoraphobia (the fear of crowds). The woman makes her living as a web-cam girl. When she realizes that one of her customers plans to kidnap a child, she decides to fight her phobia to save the little girl. No release date or cast list is available at this time.

Atlanta Quickly Becoming The East Coast Version Of Hollywood

For a long time, if you wanted to become a star you made the trek to Hollywood. That is quickly changing. Atlanta and the surrounding area is now a hub for the entertainment industry, as is all of Georgia. Shows and movies are now clambering to film in the heart of the South. This year alone the economic impact of the entertainment industry in Atlanta has topped over six billion dollars and there is no sign of it slowing. Pinewood Studios, where Ant Man was filmed, has been a major contributor. Of course you can’t forget AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead which as had a huge affect on the state. One of the major affects of the new thriving industry is the number of job opportunities the shows and movies provide. Ant Man alone provided more than 3,500 much needed jobs to Georgians. Many new series and movies are slated to film in Georgia this year, including Netflix’s original

Review: SpellBound Comics’ “Year of the Goat #1”

Question: What is black and white and red all over? Answer: A kick-ass comic about the goatpocalypse! 2015 is the Year of the Goat according to the Chinese Zodiac and it may just be right. The night that I recieved a copy of this book to review, a trending hashtag on Twitter was #AddGoatRuinAQuote. You may be able to ruin a quote by adding a goat, but if you add a whole bunch of goats to a horror/slasher comic about demonic possession, then you can’t go wrong. This book is proof of that. Now, I must admit that this book isn’t for everyone. Of course, I only say that because it is intended for mature audiences only. The story starts off on a farm in the southern United States, when a black bird lands and seems to whisper into the ear of a goat. The goat then becomes possessed and is suddenly endowed with the ability to walk and even

Studios Race To Buy Movie Rights From Family Stalked By “The Watcher”

A couple with three young children thought they had purchased their $1.3M dream home in Westfield, New Jersey, but what should have been a happy time in their lives, has turned into a real nightmare. The family has been driven out by some psycho who is sending terrifying letters to the family, someone who refers to themselves as “The Watcher”. It may sound like the plot of a horror movie, but for this family, it’s very real. The letters they have received includes statements like “I was put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming.” and “I asked the [previous owners] to bring me young blood … once I know their names, I will call to them and draw them to me.” The letters have continued to become more disturbing with statements like “I am pleased to know your names now and the name of the young blood you have brought to me,” it continues “Who has

Eli Roth To Direct The Shark Movie ‘Meg’

Last week I reported that the long awaited movie adaption of ‘Meg’ had finally gone into preproduction. Today we are able to inform you that a director has been announced, and it’s none other than the brilliant Eli Roth. Roth is the force behind movies such as ‘The Green Inferno’, ‘The Stranger’, ‘Hostel’ and ‘Cabin Fever’. ‘Meg’ is the movie adaption by Dean Georgaris of the novel series by the same name, written by Steve Alten. The novel series follows a deep sea diver named Jonas Taylor. Taylor believes that a prehistoric Megalodon is alive and lurking in the Mariana Trench. The giant shark has escaped the temperature barrier that has kept it prisoner for so long. Now ‘Meg’ is loose in the waters of the California coast. The ‘Meg’ movies has been slated by Warner Bros. to begin filming in 2016. I love anything that involves sharks and I am a huge fan of Eli Roth, so when I
