Donald’s niece (Mallory Bechtel) activates a dangerous ritual in the book used to identify and banish demons, a ritual forcing each member of the family to communicate with the demon in their own unique way: to see it, hear it, or speak to it.” Director Jamison M. LoCascio had this to say: HORROR is a grossly misunderstood genre; people blow it off as B level entertainment but some of the most influential filmmakers of all time are JOHN CARPENTER and ALFRED HITCHCOCK who have been emulated obsessively by countless filmmakers working today. WHY? Because they harnessed GENRE filmmaking, got people to buy

It’s rare these days, but sometimes a reboot outdoes the original. That’s the case with 2021’s Wrong Turn from director Mike P. Nelson, which is a little more sophisticated than its predecessors, but just as bloody. I sat down with the director to talk about the film. HorrorFuel: “I must say, I was impressed by Wrong Turn, it’s rare that I say I love a reboot, so take it as a serious compliment.” Mike P. Nelson: “Awesome! It’s a little different.” HorrorFuel: “It feels a little more sophisticated, I guess that’s a good way to explain it. I was a little worried when it was first announced. I always am when I hear the word “reboot.” I wondered just how different it would be. Mike P. Nelson: “Oh, well thank you. Oh my gosh, well I mean, that was a gamble we took with this one. Edgar Wright Adapting Stephen King’s ‘The Running Man’

The Stephen King adaptations just keep coming, not that we’re complaining. The newest adaptation on its way is The Running Man, which will be developed and directed by Last Night in Soho‘s Edgar Wright for Paramount. Movie Review: ‘The Vigil’ Is Brilliant And Scary As Hell

I grabbed a handful of Slim Jims and slid on my comfy pants and settled in to watch The Vigil, what I assumed would be your run-of-the-mill horror movie. Boy, I was wrong. The film centers on Yakov Ronen (Dave Davis), a man struggling with mental illness and overwhelming guilt for not being able to protect his little brother. Yakov has recently left the Jewish Orthodox Church and is trying to find his way in life. He’s approached by an old friend and is offered a job for the night, as a shomer which requires him to guard a dead body and protect it from evil spirits at the Litvak home. Desperate for cash he says yes, not knowing that it will be the most terrifying night of his life and one that will change him forever. Writer-director Keith Thomas makes one hell of a directorial debut with The Vigil. If he set out to make a horror film set
