‘Doom: Annihilation’ Battles Its Way Onto Blu-ray And Digital

Based on the popular original video game, Doom: Annihilation is an explosive, terrifying thrill ride, out now on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital from Universal Pictures. “On the darkest moon of Mars, scientists have found an ancient portal that allows teleportation throughout the universe. Considered to be mankind’s greatest discovery, it’s actually a gateway from hell, unleashing a swarm of demons looking to steal the souls of everyone who gets in their way. It’s up to Lieutenant Joan Dark and an elite unit of Marines to destroy an ever-growing horde of bloodsucking and soul-stealing beasts and prevent them from taking over planet earth.” Written and directed by Tony Giglio, Doom: Annihilation stars Nina Bergman, Amy Manson, Kate Nicholas, Lous Mandylor, Gina Phillips, and Jemma Morroe.

‘Friday The 13th’ Game Gets Expanded

So, by now hopefully everyone has heard of the ‘Friday The 13th’ game for PS4 and Xbox One. And…you have probably heard that, despite being a really cool idea for a game, it has more bugs than ‘Arachnophobia’. Fortunately, the developers are working hard to fix all of the issues while expanding the game. Just announced is a Part 4 map and a new version of Jason (with brand new kills…that’s really why you play the game anyway, isn’t it? There’s no shame in that.) Also, added to this map (and rumoured to be added to already existing maps) is a rain element that makes Chrystal Lake even more haunting. Hopefully they get this game figured out and keep adding new elements to it.

Creepy Game ‘We Happy Few’ Being Adapted For Film

‘We the Happy Few’ is the latest genre games to be getting a full feature length film adaption. Compulsion Games will be teaming up with Gold Circle Entertainment and dj2 for the film version of the creepy game, Variety reports. Head developer, Guillaume Provost said: “Dmitri, Stephan, and Dan approached us enthusiastically with real solid ideas about how to adapt our game to film while retaining its menace, dark humor, and central themes.” The first person perspective game is set in the fictional English city of Wellington Wells, a dystopian, retro, drug-fueled society following World War II and is on the verge of collapse in the 1960’s. Residents of the city, in attempt to forget the horrors they have witnessed, are hooked on a drug called “Joy” that induces happiness, but at the same time leaves them easily controlled and manipulated. In the game players choose one of three characters, who must live long enough to complete an important task

Jason’s Back in Friday the 13th The Game

And no. It’s not a remaster of the original 1989 side scroller for the NES. It’s an all new multiplayer survival horror where it pits 7 players against 1. That’s right, you have an opportunity to play as the machete wielding Jason against 7 other players who are just trying to have a good time. The game is being developed by Gun Media and has been launched on Kickstarter. It’s looking for $700,000 in funding – already reaching half that with just 28 days left to go. If achieved, this game will freaking rock. Seriously. Not only will you get to play as Jason, but it will all happen within a rich 80’s themed environment. To top it off, they have brought in Kane Hodder in to do mo-cap for Jason, Tom Savini to help enrich the world of Crystal Lake, and Harry Manfredini to score the game – which makes sense considering he’s done the score for the original

Guns and Puzzles, Scouts vs. Zombies

If you’re looking forward to the latest Zombedy to hit theatres later this month, you should check out a neat little mobile game put out by Paramount Digital Entertainment – Scouts vs. Zombies. Usually movie games get a bad rep – mostly for good reasons. However, this one varies by not relying on the storyline of the film, but rather the ability to kill zombies with the swipe of a finger. If you ever played games like Crush the Castle on ArmorGames, then you will get a kick out of SvZ. There are 5 locations, each with 20 levels, that you must think and shoot your way through. Taking aim with your finger of choice, your bullets rebound off walls until it doesn’t want to, or all zombies in the level are dead. And it does a nifty slow-mo close up on the final kill of the level. Certain levels allow you to collect power-ups, like extended laser sight, rubber

Goosebumps for Goosebumps: The Game

If you were between the ages of 7-15 in the mid-90’s, you’ll no doubt have fond memories of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series. It started with Welcome to Dead House back in ’92, a television series from ’95-’98, and has now made it’s way as a feature film due out in just over a week. On top of all that, WayForward has developed a game based on the series to coincide with the movie’s release. While most of WayForward’s games have been platformers, Goosebumps will be a Point-and-Click horror mystery – which reminds me a lot of the Choose Your Own Adventure style Goosebumps books. It seems like it will take you all over the Goosebumps world, encountering all our favourite creatures of the past. It’s got a cool cartoon art style, which is excellent for such a franchise. Rated E, it fits in nicely somewhere between fun and cartoony while still achieving the creepiness and scares Goosebumps is known for.
