Supernatural Horror ‘Amulet’ Has Been Unleashed

Looking for something exciting to watch this weekend? Writer-director Romola Gari‘s highly acclaimed supernatural horror film Amulet is now in theaters and is out on VOD, from Magnet Releasing. Following an accident that leaves him homeless in London, former soldier Tomaz is brought to the rotting home of Magda, a lonely woman in desperate need of help as she looks after her dying mother. Though at first resistant, Magda eventually welcomes him into their lives and allows him to help her care for them. But as he worms his way into their routine and begins to fall for Magda, Tomaz starts to notice strange, unexplainable, and ugly phenomena. Something seems very wrong with the mysterious old woman who never leaves the top floor, and Magda may in fact be enslaved to do her otherworldly bidding. The ‘Legions’ Trailer Gives Off Serious ‘Evil Dead’ Vibes

FilmSharks has snagged the worldwide sales and rights to remake the Argentinian, English subtitled horror film Legions. And the first trailer has a serious Evil Dead vibe. The film follows a jailed man who must summon his powers of sorcery to escape and rescue his daughter from danger. Shudder Original ‘Belzebuth’ Possesses A Blu-ray Release Date

RLJE Films, a business unit of AMC Networks, has picked up select rights to Belzebuth from Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural. In the film, Special Agent Emanuel Ritter leads a police investigation into a series of shocking deaths. But after a priest from the Vatican finds a link between the murders and an ancient demon, a descent into horror ensues. Belzebuth is Emilio Portes’ (Pastorela) fourth feature film and first horror film, from a script co-written by Portes and Luis Carlos Fuentes (“Kipatla”). The horror-thriller stars Joaquín Cosio (“Narcos: Mexico,” The Lone Ranger ), Tobin Bell (Saw franchise), and Tate Ellington (Sinister 2). The film premiered at the 50th Sitges Film Festival and received Best Picture at 2019 Santiago Horror Film Festival and Best Special Effects at 2019 Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre. Short Film Review: The Drawing (2020)

A tortured artist (Christian Grose) has a real wild hair up his ass about a cloaked figure that keeps showing up in his drawings… even if he didn’t actually draw the entity with his putrid pencil. As the night goes on, that cloaked sumbitch proves he isn’t a mere eerie etching, and our hero won’t be able to just erase the darkness as he does in his scary sketchbook! Running a brief six minutes, this sinister short manages to set up a great lil’ conceit, namely; the artist that brings evil to life through his art… which has a true classical feel in my not so humble opinion. This gives the piece a nice sense of mythology, which sets off the joltin’ jump scares (that actually work) and gives everything a sense of depth… no easy feat given the runtime!
