‘The Conjuring 3’ Will Be Very Different From Its Predecessors

The Conjuring franchise is quickly becoming one of the biggest franchises in the genre. The number of spin-offs keeps multiplying including Annabelle and Annabelle 2: Creation, The Nun which has entered production, and a possible Crooked Man film in the works. Now, The Conjuring is getting a third film. During an interview with CinemaBlend, producer Peter Safran talks about the next installment that will continue to explore the supernatural and paranormal investigations by Ed and Loraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, and how The Conjuring 3 will be very different from its predecessors. AHS Actress Joins The Conjuring 2 Spin-off THE NUN

The upcoming spin-off to The Conjuring 2, The Nun, will open in theaters this summer. A new cast member has joined the film and it is none other than Taissa Farmiga. Her last name should sound familiar, her big sister, Vera Farmiga, co-starred in both The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 in the pivotal role of Lorraine Warren. Taissa has appeared in several films such as We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Buried Child, and The Final Girls. You may have also seen her on American Horror Story where she appeared from 2011 to 2016 in the roles of Zoe, Violet and Sophie. Taissa will co-star alongside Demian Bichir (The Hateful Eight). Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is in the director’s chair for The Nun, which he co-wrote with James Wan and Gary Dauberman. Wan will also be producing alongside Peter Safran. Warner Bros. Hit With A $900 Million Lawsuit Over Horror Franchise

Warner Bros. has reportedly just been hit with a massive lawsuit. The $900 million suit revolves around Warner Bros’ Conjuring franchise that also includes Annabelle, Annabelle 2, and the upcoming spin-off The Nun. Back in the 1970’s, a writer by the name of Gerald Brittle published a book titled ‘The Demonologist’, the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren. Brittle is now claiming that the he and the Warrens struck an agreement in 1978 that had a “no competing work” clause, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ed and Lorraine Warren The lawsuit alleges that Warner Bros. created the franchise with Lorraine Warren, though Brittle’s deal meant that Warner Bros. should have sought his permission. The studio has responded that they have the right to use the stories under “fair use” because they are seen as historical facts, but Brittle says that the stories are actually works of fiction. The Conjuring 2’s Vera Farmiga Joins Godzilla: King Of Monsters

‘Godzilla: King of Monsters‘ will soon begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia under the direction of Michael Dougherty. ‘Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown was the first cast member to be announced, followed by Kyle Chandler who will play the father of Brown’s character and scientist. Today, THR reported that Vera Farmiga has signed on to co-star. Farmiga, most recognized for her role as Lorraine Warren in ‘The Conjuring‘ franchise, recently co-stared as Norma Bates in the hit television series ‘Bates Motel’ which is currently airing its final season. Back in 2015 Legendary and Warner Bros announced a partnership in which Legendary would develop the films with Warner Bros. distributing. The first film born of the partnership was ‘Kong: Skull Island‘ which opens in theaters nationwide on March 10, 2017. Witness The Trailer For The Possession Thriller ‘The Crucifixion’ – Inspired By A True Story

Xavier Gens, the director behind ‘Frontier(s)’ is back with a new genre thriller, ‘The Crucifixion’, penned by Chad and Carey Hayes the duo who wrote ‘The Conjuring’. ‘The Crucifixion’ is inspired by true events and centers on a priest who “is jailed for the murder of a nun on whom he was performing an exorcism, an investigative journalist strives to determine whether he in fact murdered a mentally ill person, or if he lost the battle with a demonic presence.” Sophie Cookson, Corneliu Ulici, Brittany Ashworth, Matthew Zajac, Florian Voicu, and Radu Bânzaru star in this intense possession thriller. The thriller premiered at last year’s Sreamfest in L.A., but has yet to see release here in the U.S. An international trailer has been released. Annabelle Director’s ‘Wish Upon’ Gifted With A Release Date

From Annabelle director John Leonetti comes ‘Wish Upon’, written by Barbara Marshall, and starring ‘The Conjuring’ actress Joey King (pictured below). The film centers on a 16-year-old girl (King) who finds a magic box that vows it will grant her every wish she has ever dreamed of. But soon she discovers that each wish comes at a horrible cost. King co-stars alongside Ryan Phillippe, Shannon Purser, Elisabeth Rohm, and Sydney Park of ‘The Walking Dead’. The film is produced by Sherryl Clark of Shark Productions. The release date for ‘Wish Upon’ has been set for June 30, 2017, from Broad Green Pictures, meaning that it will face off against ‘Amityville: the Awakening‘ in theaters.

Short Film “Agatha” Brings Simple Terror to Your Screen

Writer/Producer Timothy Vandenberg (Quattelbaum, 4th and Long, Song of a Fifth Grade Samurai) and Producer John Mario Marchioni bring a new horror to the short film world. The 8-minute long film Agatha tells the story of an orphan girl who “is paid handsomely by an old woman to bring meals to someone living in her attic until the girl crosses the one boundary set for her, and discovers a deadly truth.” Set in the Pennsylvania 1800s, orphans were a common occurrence and hundreds of children roamed the streets and were filling orphanages. This story deals with one curious girl and a mysterious woman in an attic who has an all too enticing secret. In an interview, Vanderberg discusses the challenge of finding the right cast and how happy he is with each performance. James Wan On The Conjuring 3 – The Warrens And Werewolves ?

James Wan is on fire. The Conjuring 2 had an amazing opening weekend at the box office, just like the The Conjuring did. Between the films’ success and the long list of investigations by The Warrens, who The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 were based on, it’s a no-brainer that more sequels will be made. It seems that the third installment of the franchise is already in the works, but not yet confirmed by Warner Bros. In a recent interview with Cinemablend Wan discussed one of the many possible subjects of The Conjuring 3 and the chance of it featuring something other than spirits and demons, werewolves. Maybe we can go and do it like a classic American Werewolf in London style. That would be awesome! The Warrens set against the backdrop of The Hound of Baskerville. A Closer Look At The Conjuring 2

The Conjuring 2, from director James Wan, the follow up to 2013’s haunting hit, is one the most highly anticipated movies of 2016. One the biggest draws to the film is that it is based on true events. The film, like its predecessor, is based on the investigations of famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. In the film the Warrens arrive in London in the late 1970’s, after looking into the Amityville Huanting, to investigate the intense paranormal happenings a single mother and her children are facing, known as the Enfield poltergeist. Filming Has Begun On ‘The Conjuring 2’

Principle photography has begun on James Wan’s ‘The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist’, in Los Angeles.Wan penned the script for the film, along with Carey and Chad Hayes, who also wrote the script for first film. New Line Cinema has set the release date as June 10, 2016. The film is based on Ed and Loraine Warren’s investigation that took place in the 1970’s, in England, when a single mother and her children were plagued by intense paranormal activity. The incident is referred to as “The Enfield Haunting’ or “The Enfield Poltergeist”. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be reprising their roles as the famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who carried out many real paranormal and supernatural investigations. The film’s cast also includes Lauren Esposito, Frances O’Connor, Simon McBurney, Franka Potente, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Simon Delaney, Patrick McAuley, Benjamin Haigh and Madison Wolfe.
