Good news for fans of M. Night Shyamalan! His latest thriller, Trap, is hitting theaters a week earlier than expected. Initially slated for August 9th, the film starring Josh Hartnett will now premiere on August 2nd nationwide.

Trap follows a father and daughter attending a pop concert headlined by Lady Raven (Ishana Shyamalan). What starts as a seemingly ordinary night out quickly spirals into a nightmare. Hints from the trailer suggest a hidden darkness surrounding Hartnett’s character, keeping audiences guessing his true motives.

Written and directed by Shyamalan, Trap boasts a cast that includes Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, and familiar faces like Hayley Mills and Allison Pill.

Josh Hartnett made a name for himself in the horror genre with his role in The Faculty in 1998. He was amazing in 30 Days of Night, but the “Penny Dreadful” series is unforgettable. His latest project was a role in the award-winning film Oppenheimer, released earlier this year to critical acclaim.

Ishana Shyamalan is following in her father’s footsteps. She made her feature debut earlier this month with the horror film The Watchers and is definitely a director to watch.

With its new release date, Trap is set to open alongside other films like Cuckoo, The Firing Squad, and the rap movie Kneecap. Fans eager for Shyamalan’s signature suspense can catch Trap in theaters starting August 2nd. Get your tickets now.
