EW has shared the first official image for the upcoming film Patient Zero. In the film, we will witness an unprecedented global pandemic of a super strain rabies that has turned the majority of mankind into highly intelligent, streamlined killers referred to as “The Infected”. One victim, Morgan, is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected. He leads the last survivors on a hunt to locate Patient Zero so that cure can be made.
Patient Zero stars The Game of Thrones‘ Natalie Dormer and John Bradley, along side Agyness Deyn (Clash of the Titans), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), Clive Standen of Vikings and Dr. Who’s Matt Smith as Morgan. This pandemic thriller was directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky.
“The great days of Zombies are a little bit over. It’s time for something new,” Ruzowitzky stated that “the infected are much sexier” than the undead. He continued “They have a lot of energy, they’re fast, they’re good-looking. Not those walking vegetables.”
Patient Zero, which asks viewers not to use the “Z” word, will infect theaters on September 2nd, 2016 via Sony Screen Gems.
