TNT is jumping head first into horror genre with a series of new shows. They have previously announced the new series ‘Tales From the Crypt‘, ‘Time of Death‘ and ‘Creatures‘. The network has now ordered the television adaption of ‘Let the Right One In’. Jeff Davis, the creator of ‘Teen Wolf’ and ‘Criminal Minds’ penned the pilot.
The series will be based on the 2004 best-selling novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist which follows a young boy, tormented and bullied, who finds solace in a friendship with female vampire that appears to be his age. As the vampire settles into the boy’s town with her mysterious caretaker, a series of murders begin to attract the attention of law enforcement officials. The book also inspired the 2008 film by the same name.
Davis will also will serve as executive producer along with Marty Adelstein (Aquarius,Teen Wolf), Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios and Simon Oakes of Hammer Films. Carl Molinder who produced the original film and Alex Brunner of Studio T will co-produce.
Let The Right One In’ fits in nicely with TNT’s new horror genre, as the cable net is working on a horror block from M. Night Shyamalan, which includes the hotly anticipated reinvented “Tales From the Crypt.” The pilot joins TNT’s growing pilot slate, which includes “Monsters of God,” “Civil” and the dramedy “Claws.”
