Dread, Epic Pictures’ specialty horror label, is set to unleash A Knight’s War, a dark medieval fantasy horror film, in select theaters and VOD this February. Black Fawn Distribution will bring the film to Canadian audiences this Spring.

A Knight’s War follows Bhodie, a knight of questionable birth but unwavering loyalty, on a perilous mission. He must journey into a dangerous realm to retrieve the corrupted soul of the Chosen One. His quest will lead him through a treacherous landscape filled with witches, demons, and brutal adversaries. It forces him to confront external threats and the possibility that the Chosen One’s return could unleash chaos and doom.

“A KNIGHT’S WAR is a testament to what can be achieved with passion, creativity, and an incredible team,” says director Matt Ninaber. “This film holds a special place in my heart because of the sheer determination and effort that went into every aspect of its creation. The grit and love that went into this film are undeniable when you see it on screen.”

The film marks the fourth collaboration between the Ninaber brothers – director Matt Ninaber and star Jeremy Ninaber who is best known for his titular role in Psycho Goreman and his directorial work on Death Valley. Matt Ninaber even partially filmed A Knight’s War in his own backyard, with all sets constructed by hand.

Co-financed by Epic Pictures as a DREAD original, in association with High Rise Studio. Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald executive produces.

“A KNIGHT’S WAR is an exciting blend of horror and medieval storytelling that we’re proud to have co-financed and can’t wait for audiences to experience,” says Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald. “Horror fans will appreciate how director Matthew Ninaber masterfully brings this dark, underworld journey to life. This marks our third collaboration with Epic, and it’s been an absolute privilege to partner with such incredible talent once again.”

Prepare for a thrilling descent into a dark and fantastical world. A Knight’s War opens in select theaters on February 7th, followed by a VOD release on February 11, joining films like Mom, Womb, and Little Bites.
