It’s official: Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù has signed on to star in the highly anticipated Netflix series adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s critically acclaimed novel, All the Sinners Bleed! Adding to the excitement, Nicole Beharie is the latest confirmed addition to the cast of this high-stakes thriller.
Dìrísù, known for his roles in Slow Horses and Gangs of London, will play Titus Crown. Crown is a haunted man—the first Black Sheriff in his small, conservative Bible Belt county. The series follows the Sheriff as he hunts a brutal serial killer. This is precisely the dark, gripping material Dìrísù excels at, marking a continued strong partnership with Netflix. (He’s also slated to appear in the streaming giant’s upcoming series Black Rabbit, alongside Jude Law and Jason Bateman!)
The addition of Nicole Beharie, known for her roles in “Sleepy Hollow” and films such as “Miss Juneteenth,” further signals the weight and quality of this production.
The adaptation is in exceptional hands. Joe Robert Cole, the genius behind the scripts for Marvel’s Black Panther films, is taking on the roles of showrunner and executive producer. Cole will also step behind the camera to direct multiple episodes, including the pilot.
Higher Ground Productions (Barack and Michelle Obama’s company), Amblin Television, and the author himself, S.A. Cosby, are executive producers. All the Sinners Bleed continues the highly productive and successful collaboration between Netflix and Higher Ground, which has recently delivered hits like Leave the World Behind and Bodkin.
Production on this star-studded, high-concept thriller is slated to begin this November. Get ready to dive into the shadows of Charon County!
