Horror legends meet influencer culture in the first look at Marrow, a new true-crime-inspired horror flick that’s already generating significant buzz. According to the trailer, it aims to “take you on a journey.”
The Premise: Lethal Views
Jamie Foster (Jessica Dawn Willis) is a vlogger desperate to save her crashing career. To get back in the algorithm’s good graces, she makes a move that is equal parts brilliant and suicidal: she invites her own stalker onto her show.
Jamie’s views go through the roof, but the “celebrity” guest might be more than just a fan—she suspects he’s the serial killer currently hunting influencers. As the cameras roll, she realizes her stalker might not even be human, and the cost of fame is about to be paid in blood.
Legend-Tier Casting
Danielle Harris (the Halloween franchise) and Michael Ironside (Scanners, Total Recall). Marrow also features Matthew Tompkins, Ashley Spicer, and Phil Harrison.
From Real-Life Terror to the Screen
Director Mitch McLeod (Silhouette) pulled the script from a terrifying reality. The story is based on a real-life stalking case from a small Texas town in the early 2000s.
McLeod, who co-wrote the film with Willis and horror novelist Preston Fassel, says the movie is a deep dive into America’s obsession with true crime. It explores the dark side of both the creators who tell these stories and the audience that devours them.
Production has officially wrapped on Marrow, and the movie’s festival tour will begin soon. We’ll keep you posted.
