Ahoy! Let’s be real: it’s been way too long since we had a pirate movie that actually kicked some serious ballast. Well, grab your cutlass and hold onto your treasure chests, because The Bluff just dropped a new trailer, and it looks like the gritty, high-octane swashbuckler we’ve been waiting for.

The Plot: Mama Bear with a Blade

This isn’t your typical “yo-ho-ho” Disney flick. Priyanka Chopra Jonas is stepping into a role that is miles away from her Miss World roots. She plays Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, a former pirate who traded her life of crime for a quiet family life in the Caribbean.

The peace doesn’t last long. Her past catches up to her in the form of a vengeful, terrifying former captain played by Karl Urban (who we know can play a “diabolical” villain better than anyone). When Urban’s crew threatens her husband and son, Ercell has to dust off her lethal skills and go full “John Wick on the High Seas” to protect them.

The Dream Team

AGBO backs the film—aka the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame). If you liked the bone-crunching action of Extraction, you know precisely the kind of intensity to expect here.

Director Frank E. Flowers filmed on location in the Cayman Islands. Using real locations like the iconic Skull Cave and the bluffs of Cayman Brac gives the movie a raw, authentic look that CGI can’t match.

Why We’re Hyped

The Bluff looks like a perfect blend of a gritty historical drama and a modern “one-woman-army” action flick. Plus, the supporting cast is stacked with talent like Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett himself!) and Ismael Cruz Cordova. It’s a story about redemption, survival, and exactly how far a mother will go when you mess with her kid.

The Bluff sets sail on February 25, 2026, landing on Prime Video.
