One of the most highly anticipated television events in 2017 is the revival of David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks’. Today, on ‘Twin Peaks Day’, the anniversary of the day FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper arrived in the infamous town, Showtime has shared two posters to celebrate the occasion. One poster features Cooper’s face (above), the other has the image of Laura Palmer. Both have the line “It Is Happening Again” at the top of the image. There are also video promos for the posters (below).
‘Twin Peaks’ is written and produced by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost. Both men will also be serving as executive producers. Lynch will direct each episode.
Kyle MacLachlan returns along with fellow cast members Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Mädchen Amick, David Duchovny, Michael Horse, Dana Ashbrook, Miguel Ferrer, Ray Wise, Grace Zabriskie, Peggy Lipton, and Everett McGill. Other stars who have joined the cast include Amanda Seyfried, Naomi Watts, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Ernie Hudson, Michael Cera, Trent Reznor, Jessica Szohr, Jane Levy, Richard Chamberlain, Robert Knepper, Jim Belushi, Tom Sizemore, Ethan Suplee, Balthazar Getty, Bailey Chase, David Koechner, and Larry Clarke. The original series followed the residents of a small Northeastern town who are stunned to learn that Laura Palmer, the homecoming queen, had been murdered. The Sheriff welcomes the help of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, who arrived to investigate the killing. As Cooper digs into the mystery, the town’s secrets gradually come to light. The mystery sets up an eerie chain of events that send the residents of Twin Peaks into a dark inspection of their own existence. The revival picks up twenty-five years later and the mysteries of Twin Peaks continues.
The 18-episode limited series will open with a two-part premiere on Showtime on Sunday, May 21st at 9pm.
