It’s just another night at the morgue for our custodian, Cornelius, until he feels the need to satisfy his carnal urges by way of an intimate encounter with a female corpse. Extraterrestrials Invade VOD In ‘Alien: Reign Of Man’

Though not the xenomorphs created by legendary artist H.R. Giger and made famous by director Ridley Scott, Uncork’d Entertainment’s Alien: Reign of Man will bring us face-to-face with a new breed of hostile space-creeps. Alien: Reign of Man spins the tale of some sort of team working to activate some sort of machine to save Earth, while stranded on some planet, battling the titular aliens. From what I’ve seen in the trailer, the film appears to be an indie mockbuster somewhere in between Alien: Covenant and Interstellar. Directed by Justin Price (Dark Moon Rising), and starring Deanna Grace Congo, Torrei Hart, Khu, and Cameron White, the low-budget sci-fi horror comes to VOD August 1, with a DVD release slated for November 14, 2017. Though I’ve yet to see the film, I’m highly skeptical of its quality. Judge for yourself by watching the official trailer of Alien: Reign of Man below.

Lucas Birnie Seeks Backers For Indie-Creature Feature ‘Were-Wool’

Filmmaker Lucas Birnie is seeking backers for upcoming indie creature-feature, Were-Wool. Influenced equally by the 1981 John Landis classic tale of full-moon bloodlust, An American Werewolf in London, and James Gunn’s 2006 cult splatter comedy Slither, the director aims to, as stated on the film’s Kickstarter page, be “the culmination of a few of my – and what I can only hope are also your – favourite things: love, laughs, lycanthropy, sheep, blood, guts, and more blood.” Here’s a brief synopsis of the story, also from the movie’s Kickstarter page: “Max Pemberton is your average everyday shmuck who has had to give up on his aspirations and settle into a more practical lifestyle in the rural town of Lafontaine with his long-time girlfriend, and local veterinarian, Sarah Ackerman. Days Of The Dead: Indianapolis – They Came, We Saw, And It Kicked Ass

So here we are my Little Monsters, Days of the Dead: Indianapolis has been over for a full week and that post convention depression is still lingering, but at least I have completely recuperated from the festivities . The horror community tends to feel like a big family to me, and horror cons are like a huge family reunion of sorts. And even though I have been to many comic and pop culture conventions, horror cons are where I feel most at home. While I, as many of you do, enjoy films across all genres, horror is without a doubt my favorite of them all. For three days I got to spend time with my convention family, and now all I am left with, besides autographs and some other cool things I snagged, are the pictures I took and the memories. Consumed By Nightmares: An Interview With Integrity’s Dwid Hellion

Integrity is a band that has been crafting malevolent, horror-influenced metallic hardcore for nearly thirty years. As pitch-dark as it is sonically brutal, Integrity’s music has influenced countless hardcore, punk, death/thrash/black metal, and grind/noise acts. The band’s twelfth full-length album, Howling, for the Nightmare Shall Consume is set to be released on Friday, July 14 on Relapse Records, and Horror Fuel was able to speak with Integrity’s frontman, Dwid Hellion, on topics ranging from the release of the new record, to his favorite fright flicks and the horror of the Bible. New Poster Unveils Tiny Terrors From ‘Ghastlies’

From Gremlins and Ghoulies, to Critters, Troll, and The Gate, horror movies focused on gangs of mini-monsters were commonplace throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Unfortunately, little to no output has occurred in the subgenre in the decades since. Thankfully, Camp Motion Pictures plans on answering our prayers for pint-sized creeps with Ghastlies, out on DVD, Blu-Ray, and VOD this November. In the meantime, check out this new poster, released today on the official Ghastlies Facebook page. Directed by Brett Kelly (Kingdom of the Vampire, Attack of the Giant Leeches [2008]), and written by Chris Bavota (Minutes Past Midnight), Ghastlies is the tale of three ghoulish creatures accidentally unleashed from an underground bunker by four sorority girls while on a weekend getaway in the country. With the pure-eighties tagline “Pure evil. Bite Sized.”, the film (starring Kim Valentine) is set to be a lot of throwback fun.

Album Review: Explore Your Worst Nightmares With Horrific

Horrific – Your Worst Nightmare Have you ever wished there was an original metal band that perfectly captured the essence of ’80s heavy metal horror flicks Black Roses, The Gate, Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare and the like? Well, hessian hordes, Hells Headbangers Records have just answered your prayers with this re-issue of Horrific’s Your Worst Nightmare. Originally released in 2009, the debut, and to-date only Horrific album is the brainchild of Slasher Dave (Acid Witch) and Billy Nocera (Razorback Records/Surgikill), two fellas with near-unequaled love of both horror and metal. Every track is a fantastic hybrid of death metal, thrash, punk, and axe-wielding, traditional heavy metal; the vocals are mostly a low, gutteral death growl, while the guitars are equal parts zombie filth-chug and wailing noodle-wizard. Movie Review: ‘The Ice Cream Truck’ Is A Slow Rolling Suburban Tale.

It’s not always true that you can never go home again. In fact, Mary, her husband and their two children are all relocating to the suburbs of Mary’s hometown. Mary arrives at their new home first, while her husband and kids wrap up things back in Seattle before coming out to join her. Left on her own to face the suburban monotony, Mary makes an earnest attempt to play nice with local suburbanites. Existing in the suburbs is not what it used to be and is definitely not for the faint of heart, and for Mary it’s the equivalent of fitting a square peg in a round hole. But complacency can be a dangerous thing in the ‘burbs, especially when some dangers are hidden behind a seemingly innocent facade. Megan Freels Johnston was at the helm for this film, which she also wrote the screenplay for. The vilification of those summertime purveyors of frozen treats and novelties is nothing new.
