Movie Review: ANTI MATTER Is A Paranoiac Low-Tech Sci-Fi Gem

Ana is a brilliant young woman. She’s a chemist and a PhD student at Oxford University, working on an incredible and likely life changing experiment. Her goal is to find a way to transport matter by opening a worm hole by which said matter will travel. Just imagine the possibilities and applications. She works tirelessly with the help of her friends Liv and Nate, and may be on the verge of, dare I say, success? And while the investigation of a cyber-crime in her department, and incessant harassment from protesters about experiments conducted on University grounds could be seen as an obstacle, Ana is persistent and unyielding. She begins practical experimentation, sending small inanimate items, dozens of marbles to be exact, through the wormhole. The marbles travel, but to where is a mystery…that is until Ana and her colleagues calibrate the transporter in a way that will allow them to fix a coordinate for an end point. Now they are

RESIDENT EVIL Receives the Reboot Order Less Than Six Months After The Series Ends

Alongside The Matrix and Underworld, Resident Evil was one of the original “attractive people in leather kick ass” films, released all the way back in 2002, with an array of less and less impressive sequels following. The powers at be finally decided to put a bullet in the gassy franchises head with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter earlier this year, but apparently this series is a lot like the zombies that inhabit it; unable to die, and dangerous to the brains of anyone who gets to close. According to Bloody-Disgusting, a reboot is in the works less than six months after the The Final Chapter limped its way out of theaters. While there’s no denying these films make good money (300 Mil on a 40 Mil budget is a tidy profit for any movie, let alone horror), but I doubt I’m alone in wondering why. If I want to watch an attractive lady in leather, I’ll hire a dominatrix. Hell,

First Look at The Predator Set

News keeps pouring in about the upcoming Predator film. Finally, a picture from the set has surfaced. I am positive there will be many more, but this first one is extremely exciting. Not only does it show Thomas Jane chilling on a tank, but it shows TWO Predators. This film is not a reboot. It takes place after the events of the first film, but will be focused in a suburban area rather than a remote jungle. We are told that the government is aware of the aliens and it appears as though a military task force is being sent to kill the predator. The cast for this R-Rated, promised-to-be-bloody movie looks amazing and now the prospect of a second predator. Keep posted here for more news. The Predator is scheduled for release on August 3rd, 2018

Movie Review – ALIEN: COVENANT Isn’t ALIEN Yet, But It Doesn’t Have To Be

It’s been ten years since Peter Weyland financed the ill fated Prometheus expedition, intent on finding and meeting the supposed creators of the human race or “engineers”. Now Weyland Corp. has become Weyland Yutani, and their focus is now that of “building better worlds”. To that end the company has sought out other habitable distant planets for the purpose of colonization. The crew of a Colony Ship named Covenant are charged with transporting over 2,000 cryo-slumbering colonists and over 1,000 frozen embryos to their destination on the planet Origae-6. During the voyage, an energy flare from an exploding star causes damage to the ship, causes the death of a few colonists and the ship’s captain, who becomes trapped in his cryo-stasis pod as it encounters a catastrophic malfunction. The rest of the crew having been awakened by the mission’s synthetic crew member, Walter, assess the damage and begin repairs. As they complete the necessary repairs to Covenant, they receive transmission

King Kong Musical Heading To Broadway

Kong might be king of Skull Island, but what about Broadway? Fans of musical theater will have the chance to find out with a King Kong musical set to release in the fall of 2018. Development started all the way back in 2014, but a number of behind the scenes issues kept the big apes pipes shut. Written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and with composer Marius de Vries (La La Land) attached, Kong certainly has some A-list talent hanging onto it. But perhaps best of all, in the tradition of The Lion King and other animal heavy shows, Kong will be played brought to life with the wonders of practical effects, in this case a Giant Animatronic Puppet. Will King Kong live up to classic horror musicals like The Rocky Horror Show or Little Shop of Horrors? Only time will tell, but so far it has me pounding my chest in excitement.

Movie Review: BESETMENT Is A Good Film That Had The Potential To Be Better

One would be hard pressed to determine which of the following Amanda needs worse: a break from her mother or gainful employment. A case could be made that both are equally important. So imagine Amanda’s surprise when she is offered a job at a hotel located in the small Oregon town of Mitchell. It seems ideal, since it puts a fair bit of distance between Amanda and her mother while not only providing her a source of much needed income, but also providing her with room and board. Her new boss Mildred is a quirky, eccentric, no-nonsense kind of old gal, who has a meek and simple middle aged son named Billy. As Amanda tries to acclimate herself to her new job and surroundings, she will come to find out too late that her sparkling resume and previous experience had no bearing on putting her in the position where she now finds herself. In such a small town with very

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Kristina Klebe

Greetings my Little Monsters! I am so pleased you’ve all returned to help me celebrate another wonderful Woman of Horror. I do have to admit that I feel remiss in my duties, having waited so long to write about this immensely talented woman. So, without further adieou, I present to you, Kristina Klebe. Kristina was born in New York City, but would grow up making the rounds with her family spending time in New York, France, Germany and Italy. The time spent growing up abroad allowed her to become fluent in the three aforementioned foreign languages. By the time she was in high school, Kristina had become a pianist and competitive equestrian. However these activities would have to take a back seat so that Kristina could commit more fully to her true love of acting. Kristina was granted early admission to Dartmouth, where she would pursue a major in Politics with a minor in Theater and Film Studies and graduate

Make America Weird Again in WEIRD FOLK: A SUBURBAN HORROR COMEDY

2016 was an interesting year as far as horror went; if you wanted to be scared shitless all you had to do was watch the American election cycle. And filmmakers Scott Dunn and Gina Gomez might have just struck gold (or whatever color that rat wig worn by The Donald is) with Weird Folk, a film set on the eve of the 2016 election. Taking place in one neighborhood on one night, Weird Folk follows a couple different story threads; A teen makes a terrible discovery on the dark web A Clown stalks the neighborhood A Chiropractor experiences his worst nightmare And A couple finds themselves in the crosshairs of a killer It’s an interesting twist on your standard anthology, and god knows there’s plenty to poke fun at in the current american political system. Weird Folk is currently fundraising on Kickstarter, with several weeks left to make their goal. Whether your a liberal cuck or a conservative nut job,
