FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME Lands A Release Date

Following it’s hugely successful beta, Friday the 13th: The Game now has a set release date, with camp counselors being sent to the slaughter on May 26, 2017. The game will be launched for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Steam, costing $40 at retail. With the ability to play as a counselor on the run, or Ol’ Hockey Mask himself, F13: The Game is looking to be a successful adaptation of the famous series. There’s still a lot of the game that hasn’t been shown (multiple maps, Jason abilities, and the ever elusive single player campaign for starters), which just makes the wait hurt that much more. Probably not as much as a machete to the head, granted. But still painful.

The Predator Gets Delayed, But it Might Not Be Bad News

News for The Predator that isn’t about a new cast member! Unfortunately, that news is that the highly anticipated film is delayed from its original February 2018 slot all the way to August 3, 2018. This is bad news for those of us waiting with baited breath to see this version of everyone’s favorite alien hunters, but it may not signal bad news for the movie itself. Speculation is that the movie is looking really good and putting it at the tail end of summer blockbusters signals that the movie is intended to perform much better than originally anticipated. Good things come to those who wait, right? The film rumors a suburban setting for the all-star cast to fight the Predator and everything points to a fantastic reboot for the franchise. Keep your eyes here for new updates and news about this movie and everything else horror-based.

Final Girls Berlin Film Festival Adds Second Edition

I will have to admit that before Women in Horror Month rolled around this year, I was unaware of its existence. Shame on me! I love the outcry to not only celebrate the great women in horror, but to encourage more female focus in the genre. That is what the Final Girls Berlin Film Festival is all about. It is a celebration and an invitation to women in horror. And, due to the overwhelming success of the February Festival, a second 2017 edition has just been announced! Festival programmer, Eli Lewy has announced that “Women’s genre output is severely underrepresented in horror communities and we want to do our bit in changing that,” says festival programer Sara Neidorf. “Many believe that women who love genre films are a minority but that’s simply not true: women make up half or more of horror audiences, and it’s high time they have a chance to watch films that aren’t dominated by the male

Your chance to take home one of the most wildly entertaining films of the year is just around the corner, with The Belko Experiment (shameless review plug here) hitting home video on June 27th. While it doesn’t come packed with a stapler, blood stained or otherwise, a number of bonuses are peppering the release. Rules of the Game: The Secrets Behind The Belko Experiment Lee Hardcastle’s Survival Tips Deleted Scenes Gallery Horrorfuel quite liked the film, calling it “an unrepentant celebration of sickness”, and giving it an 8/10.

Aaron Hernandez – Murderer and NFL All Star Commits Suicide

I do a lot of articles on murderers and crimes, but usually they are of historic persons and people whose stories have been told over and over again to people who follow this sort of thing. I have the sad opportunity today to cover something very recent and ongoing. In the fourth round of the 2010 NFL draft, the New England Patriots drafted an NCAA National Champion All-American, John Mackey Award winning (an award given to the nation’s top college tight end) blue chip prospect named Aaron Josef Hernandez. This draft pick was highly scouted and a great pick. He didn’t get drafted earlier because of continually failing drug tests and violence problems while attending The University of Florida. With these issues in mind, Hernandez signed a very lucrative 4-year contract filled with financial incentives to “walk the straight and narrow line.” His promising player was the youngest player on any active roster to start the 2010 season, and showed

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Karen Black

Oh, why hello my Little Monsters, I didn’t see you standing there with bated breath, waiting to read about this weeks wonderful Woman of Horror. Of course having seen the image and the title before coming in to read this, you all will have already surmised that my focus today is on the legendary Karen Black. Karen originally came into this world as Karen Blanche Ziegler, on July 1st, 1939. She grew up in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Illinois, where she ultimately graduated from Maine East High School. Karen would decide to stay in state to continue her education, majoring in theater arts at Northwestern University. Looking to further her training in the dramatic arts, Karen would move to New York, where she would study under famed acting teacher, Lee Strasberg. During the burgeoning years of her career, Karen had roles in many off Broadway productions, as well as making her screen debut in the 1960 film, The

Short Film Review: AGATHA Is A Terrifying Secret Well Worth Discovering

The place is Pennsylvania, and the time period is the late 1800’s. On a daily basis, trains teeming with orphaned children would arrive unleashing these urchins onto the city streets. One of these children, a solitary and destitute seven year old girl, is entrusted by an older woman to carry out a simple task on a nightly basis – deliver a plate of food to someone residing in the attic of the woman’s residence. However, there is one important rule she MUST follow, and that is for her to NEVER pass beyond the serving table in the attic. Albeit mundane and repetitive, this chore proves to be a simple enough way for the young waif to make some much needed money. But children are naturally curious and eventually it may get the better of this young girl. Who is the person living in this attic, and why are they being secretly confined? These maybe questions this young orphan girl won’t

ALIENATE Trailer Drops Down to Earth

Facing the end of your marriage might seem like a tough time, but there’s no way it can compare to the end of the world. Alas, our unlucky protagonist David must deal with both in the newly released trailer for Alienate, after an extraterestial invasion leaves phone lines dead and airplanes falling out of the sky. Starring Blake Webb, Tatum Langton, and Jaclyn Hales, if it’s trailer is to go by, Alienate is going to be a very dusty, and terrifying, look at aliens visiting Earth and trying to clean the joint out. Other than a very alien esque throat growl, we don’t actually see the invaders in this first trailer, just the ample destruction they leave in their wake. Soldiers thrown like G. I. Joe action figures, fields of corpses, allusions to poisoned water, and a myriad of other factors add up to some intimidating, if still completely unseen, monsters. Looks like we’ll just have to wait for the

GARDEN PARTY MASSACRE Showcases Suburban Carnage in First Trailer

Garden Parties are often un-fun affairs; badly cooked hotdogs, shitty conversation with strangers, and warm beer served in plastic cups normally add up to a good time. But at the very least, your average get together doesn’t involve a homicidal bald man with a pickaxe. From director Gregory Blair, Garden Party Massacre’s first trailer makes the film seem like it’s going to be a seriously meta (and seriously funny) little horror comedy. Some of the trailers best moments; “Wes and I are vegetarians.” “You don’t eat meat?” “Well I wouldn’t say that.” “Where did he get a pickaxe in suburbia?” “I was married once, but he died.” “Suicide?” And of course there’s that badass theme song that plays at the end. Does Garden Party Massacre look like a masterpiece? Maybe not. Does it look like a hell of a lot of low budget, cheesy fun? Absolutely. I know I’m going to give it a watch just to listen to the

Tick Tock – An Original Story: Part 2

Part One here “Can I help again today Dad?” “Of course son, come on.” It was time to wind the watch. He looked forward to watching his father reverently remove the watch from its stand in the glass case on the bookshelf in the den of their house. Gently he took the watch down and laid it on a soft piece of material on the desk next to a lamp. He sat on a stool next to his father watching his father’s skilled hands polishing the watch’s casing. Then he slowly opened it, blew out imaginary dust from the hinge, and polished the crystal. Then, with his eyes glued to the project, he watched his dad carefully wind the watch three and a half times, listen to it tick and listen to it tock. Then, following another quick wipe-down he tenderly set it back in the glass case. “This watch must be wound every day. It is important never to
