Game Review: ‘Dagon: Complete Edition’

H.P. Lovecraft’s works are hard to put into film or games properly. Attempts have been made over the years with some decent attempts, and some flat-out missing the point. Bit Golem and Feardemic have done something I have not seen done before, making a 100% faithful adaptation of not one but three of Lovecraft’s short stories! This is Dagon: Complete Edition. Dagon: Complete Edition puts players into one of Lovecraft’s most iconic short stories, Dagon where they can experience the story firsthand as it’s narrated to them by the tale’s protagonist. Now, onto the game itself! Dagon: Complete Edition‘s controls are impossible to not master as the game mainly involves the player observing their surroundings, zooming in on objects, and clicking on prompts. Edgar Wright’s ‘The Running Man’ Adaptation Scores Release Date

Salem’s Lot, The Monkey, new adaptations of Stephen King‘s classic novels, seem to be constantly heading your way, not that we’re complaining! The latest adaptation is from Edgar Wright, the acclaimed director behind Shaun of the Dead and Last Night in Soho. He’s bringing a new adaptation of The Running Man to the big screen. Not only is Wright directing, but he will also be producing alongside his longtime partners, Nira Park and Simon Kinberg. Glen Powell, known for his roles in Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters, will lead the cast as the protagonist. Joining him is Katy O’Brian, who recently starred in Love Lies Bleeding. Stephen King’s novel The Running Man was originally published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman in 1982. It presents a dystopian future where a falsely convicted police officer must participate in a deadly TV game show to survive. New ‘Salem’s Lot’ Clip Bares its Fangs to Celebrate Premiere

Vampires, werewolves, and ghosts, oh my. It’s officially spooky season, and a horde of great movies are being released. One movie that should be at the top of your watch list this week is Gary Dauberman and MAX’s new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic tale, Salem’s Lot, which I called “worth sinking your fangs into” in my mostly spoiler-free review. The film’s impressive ensemble cast includes Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, and Spencer Treat Clark—all of whom we interviewed about the film. Pilou Asbaek, William Sadler, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, and Debra Christofferson round out the cast. Salem’s Lot is set in 1975, the same year King’s original novel was published. Ryan Murphy Adapting “The Beauty” for New FX Series

Get ready for another captivating series from the brilliant and twisted mind of Ryan Murphy. FX has officially ordered “The Beauty,” an adaptation of the acclaimed 2016 horror comic from Image Comics. This new series is part of Murphy’s overall deal with Disney. It will feature a star-studded cast, including frequent collaborators Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, and Ashton Kutcher. Peters, Ramos, and Pope will also serve as executive producers alongside Murphy and Matt Hodgson. Production on the 11-episode first season is expected to begin this fall. It’s dark, haunting, and stunning, but that’s something we have come to expect from director Robert Eggers. In the film, Lily-Rose Depp’s Ellen wrestles with anguish as Orlok’s spell pulls her in. Trailer Surfaces for Steamboat Willie Horror Movie ‘Screamboat’

In 1928, Mickey Mouse was introduced to the world under the name Steamboat Willie. Steamboat Willie entered the public domain earlier this year. Of course, it was just a matter of time before it became a horror movie. From the team behind Terrifier and The Mean One and director Steven LaMorte comes Screamboat, which turns the creature into a murder-hungry nightmare. David Howard Thorton, known for his role as “Art the Clown” from the Terrifier franchise, will play the new twisted Steamboat Willie.
