Comic book adaptations are everywhere these days, from the Morbius movie to Locke & Key and Moon Knight. HBO Max is joining the fun with their upcoming series adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s DC comic “Dead Boy Detectives.” The eight-episode first season “follows a pair of ghostly detectives as they investigate murders related to the supernatural,” according to The Wrap. The comic centers on two dead teens, Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, who, rather than enter the afterlife, stay on Earth to become detectives investigating crimes involving the paranormal and the supernatural. George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri star as the lead characters. Edwin Payne also stars along with Charles Rowland, and Kassius Nelson. Steve Yockey (“The Flight Attendant”) wrote the pilot and will serve as showrunner. . Created by writer Gaiman and artists Matt Wagner and Malcolm Jones III, the “Dead Boy Detectives” characters made their first appearance in “The Sandman” #25 in April of 1991. Fans of HBO Max’s “Doom

Japan’s Ammo Inc., California-based Ammo Entertainment, and Vertical Entertainment have just announced the limited theatrical and VOD release of Ben Jagger‘s Room 203, based on the J-horror novel by Nanami Kamon. “After lifelong friends, Kim and Izzy move into Room 203, a quirky apartment with a creepy medieval stained glass window, Kim slowly becomes convinced that their new home may be haunted. Amazon Prime’s hit ultra-violent superhero series “The Boys” is back for season 3 this summer. The official red band teaser trailer is here, teasing a bloody action-packed season. HBO Max has just unleashed the trailer for their upcoming limited post-apocalyptic series “DMZ“, based on the DC comic book created by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli. Rosario Dawson stars in the series that sees her character navigate a dangerous and distorted demilitarized zone, Manhattan while searching for her son that got lost during the evacuation. Dawson is known for her roles in films such as the Jay and Silent Bob reboot, Clerks lll, Sin City, and the film adaptation of the musical Rent. She is also starring in the upcoming Haunted Mansion movie. Benjamin Bratt, Hoon Lee, Freddy Miyares, Jordan Preston Carter, Venus Ariel, Rey Gallegos, Jade Wu, Agam Darshi, Juani Feliz, Rutina Wesley, and Mamie Gummer round out the cast. Directors include Ava DuVernay (Selma, A Wrinkle in Time) and Ernest Dickerson (Demon Knight), who directed three episodes. “DMZ” premieres on HBO Max on March 17, 2022.

“The Boys Presents: Diabolical,“ an animated anthology spin-off of the hit series based on Garth Ennis’ violent comics, is out now on Prime Video. The eight-episode short anthology series features stories from the bloody, ultraviolent universe of “The Boys” and features characters like Homelander as well as new characters. The premiere episode, titled “Laser Baby’s Day Out,” features a story by executive producers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen and was directed by Crystal Chesney-Thompson and Derek Thompson. “For last few years, have really wanted to do some dialogue-free comedy; just tell a story without dialogue. When we realized that we could do an “Animatrix” style TV show out of “The Boys” Universe, we just instantly came to this idea. It is heavily based on the movie Baby’s Day Out and the start of Roger Rabbit. Alessandro Nivola (The Eye, Jurassic Park III) has been cast in Sony’s upcoming Marvel movie Kraven the Hunter, Deadline reports. Nivola joins previously announced cast member Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) who will play the title character. Russell Crowe (Gladiator) and Fred Hechinger (“The White Lotus”) will also star. J.C. Chandor is in the director’s chair for the movie produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk penned the screenplay. Kraven the Hunter is one of Marvel’s most notorious anti-heroes. Kraven the Hunter has had encounters with Venom and Black Panther as well as being one of Spider-Man’s most formidable enemies. Sony’s Marvel vampire movie, Morbius is finally heading our way after several delays. Today, we’ve got a new featurette to share with you that gives us a glimpse into the lore of Dr. Michael Morbius. Played by Oscar® winner Jared Leto, Morbius is a scientist who, while trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, accidentally transforms himself into a living vampire. “While at first, it seems to be a radical success, the darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?” Tyrese Gibson stars as FBI agent Simon Stroud; Jared Harris (“The Terror”) plays Morbius’ mentor; Matt Smith (“Doctor Who”) plays the film’s villain Loxias Crown; and Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising) is Morbius’ love interest.
