When it comes to pop culture memorabilia, it’s hard to find something unique to add to your collection that’s made by just anyone, massed produced, and sold pretty much everywhere. Well, I just discovered Insight Editions, a publisher of both books and collectibles that are known for their cookbooks based on popular shows, movies, and video games. Some of the more unique items they have in stock are Tarot Cards based on movies and shows, the most intriguing being the Tarot del Toro! I want to thank Insight Editions for helping to make this review possible! As you probably already guessed, the Tarot del Toro is a tarot deck based on the works of Guillermo del Toro. The deck comes with a guidebook on the meaning of all the cards as well as how to read them which is good if you intend to use them. It’s been three years since Marvel announced that Mahershala Ali (“House of Cards,” “Luke Cage”) would be the new Blade. After years of rumors and just enough news to keep the movie in the back of our minds, it’s finally happening. That’s right, Blade is finally on his way, and I don’t mean in another three years; the movie is kicking off filming in New Orleans on July 4, 2022!!! So, what’s this movie about? It sounds like a reboot of the trilogy that starred Wesley Snipes, which was last released as a film in 2004. Screen Crush quotes Marvel saying this about the new Blade: “He is known to be a vampire hunter – half-mortal, half-immortal- who tries to rid the world of vampires to avenge his mother, who was killed by a vampire as she gave birth to him.” Ali made his first appearance in the post-credit scenes of Eternals, but nothing since has been heard about the

During a promotional video for Netflix‘s upcoming June Geek Week event, the streaming giant unveiled a new glimpse at their upcoming live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s The Sandman, giving us a look at Gwendoline Christie‘s character Lucifer (no connection to the Lucifer TV series). In the video, Tom Sturridge, who is playing Dream of the Endless, says “Oh right, and Sandman’s coming. Trust me.” At the end of the video we see Lucifer in a brief but tense interaction with Dream in Hell. The series is “A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.” The series, which Gaiman will executive produce, also stars Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian, Asim Chaudhry

In April, we reported that after years of rumors and false starts, a reboot of The Crow is really on its way with IT actor Bill Skarsgård playing the lead role of Eric Draven, a role made famous by Brandon Lee who died during the filming. Today, we have more casting news. Singer FKA Twigs, who made her acting debut in Honey Boy, has joined the cast and will star opposite Skarsgård. Twigs made the announcement herself on Instagram saying, “I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I will be appearing alongside Bill Skarsgård in The Crow directed by Rupert Sanders.” The film has already begun pre-production with production scheduled to begin this summer with a budget in the range of $50 million. It is being described as a “modern reimagining” of the graphic novels created by James O’Barr. Mad Shelley Comics has just released Halloween Girl, Vol. 2, the second chapter in its supernatural graphic novel series Halloween Girl. This latest installment in a planned 7-issue series based on creator Richard T. Wilson’s The Halloween Girl film and its sister web series, Under the Flowers. Halloween Girl, Vol. 2 continues this young-adult–oriented series in an intriguing manner, widening the world presented in the debut issue while dropping breadcrumbs of mystery for future story progression. Titular character Charlotte William is an 18-year-old ghost who can take on human form. Halloween Girl, Vol. 2 begins as she is trapped in a large house and about to be devoured by huge, spider-like creatures — and it doesn’t help that she suffers from arachnophobia and is stuck in her form that is least helpful for the precarious situation. Anouk Whissell, Yoann-Karl Whissell, and François Simard, the brilliant filmmaking team that brought you Turbo Kid and the incredible thriller Summer of 84, are back and this time they are raising the dead in horror-comedy, We Are Zombies. “The offbeat comedic plot follows three slackers looking to earn some easy money who must fight an evil mega-corporation to save their kidnapped grandmother.” Variety reports. Alexander Nachi (“Clash”), Megan Peta Hill (“Riverdale”), and Derek Johns (Moonfall) star in the movie produced by Christal Film Productions, Full House, Maneki Films, and Sparkling, in association with Kinology. Production has already begun in Canada on We Are Zombies, which is an adaptation of Jerry Frissen and Guy Davis’ comic book series “The Zombies That Ate the World.” Both masters of horror George A. Romero and Tobe Hooper raved about the comic books, which Hooper called “disgusting, fun and politically right on target.”

Batman’s role in the universe he exists in is largely centered on his biggest deficiency. As a ‘superhero’, he possesses a grand total of zero powers and simply relies on his human capabilities. The stakes are always maintained within human limits and the things humans can do to each other, rather than the more extravagant scale of world-saving that Superman might get up to. Of all the superheroes, many of Batman’s foes are some of the most disturbed and most twisted. The Joker or the Riddler, for example, are driven purely by desires for chaos brought on by the abuses they’ve suffered or awful events that befell them. Because Batman is only human, ideas like absolute power or ‘saving the universe’ simply aren’t in the ballpark he plays in. I’ll be honest, I’m a big fan of Marvel’s new series, “Moon Knight.” But things can get a bit complicated if you aren’t an expert on Egyptian history. There are so many gods featured in the story that it might leave your head spinning a bit. So, I’m going to make things easier for you. Below you will find the gods featured in the series and some information about who they are. One of the most important gods featured is the moon god, Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham), which Mark and Steven (Oscar Isaac) serve as an avatar for. Khonshu, featuring the head of a skeleton bird, controls the movement of the moon across the sky. The villain of the series, Harrow, played by Ethan Hawke, is the avatar of the crocodile-headed goddess Ammit (Sofia Danu) who is the god of death, judgment, and funerals. Sony’s upcoming Kraven the Hunter Marvel movie continues to build its cast. Deadline is reporting that Levi Miller (Better Watch Out, pictured above) is the newest addition, however, his role has yet to be announced. Miller joins previously announced cast members Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) who stars in the title character, Ariana DeBose who will be playing Calypso, and Christopher Abbott (Possessor) who is playing The Foreigner. Alessandro Nivola (The Many Saints of Newark) will play a yet-to-be-named villain. And 300 actor Russell Crowe, and Fred Hechinger (“The White Lotus”) will also star in the film directed by J.C. Chando (A Most Violent Year). Debuting in The Amazing Spider-Man issue #15 (August 1964), Kraven the Hunter is one of Spider-Man’s most formidable foes. Kraven has also fought other heroes, including Black Panther. And is a founding member of the “Sinister Six”.
